I cann't get into these kind of games

I really want to though.

I LOVED Diablo 1, I haven’t played Diablo 2. But Diablo 3 has me mad. I haven’t bought Diablo 4 for the same reason.

Diablo 3 has me going around just one shotting things. I mean yeah I’m experiencing the story but damn I barely have to lift a finger!

I have watched other people play Diablo 3 and I find it inexcusable that people defend this kind of gameplay where all you do is just press one button to win mindlessly grinding into oblivion. NO!

In the past I had a colleague tell me oh yeah it gets harder much later. And all I was asking is WHEN?

So I said okay, I’ll look at other ARPGs to see what it’s like. And the story is about the same for each one, the way people play these games is downright crazy. You just spam this one attack and chew past mobs and this is somehow fun?

And the thing about Diablo 3, that I really hate is, I don’t care about any of the characters. Compared to Diablo 1, you really connect with the small village you start off in being terrorized by literal demons. But in Diablo 3, I don’t remember anyone’s name, nor do I care about them.

I think having given players the ability to just cheese mindlessly past mobs in the beginning was a mistake. Whoever thought this is good game design is in the wrong.

I did try Path of Exile for a little bit, but Path of Exile is an extremely needlessly complicated game. And yes, I watched 2 hours of YouTube just to learn the basics of how to play. And yes, I have a pretty good idea of what it looks like.

And it literally suffers from all the same things Diablo 3 suffers from. And people will say “Ah you just need to play another 40 hours”, NO. Nobody should have to play 40 hours to experience the fun part of the game. That’s wildly irresponsible on the developer’s part.

When I used to play WoW, my biggest gripe with the game was that Blizzard catered to a population of sycophants who felt that they shouldn’t have to work for anything to achieve stuff in the game and just want all the highest rated items with little to no effort. And I can tell that these games, ALSO suffer from the same stupid mentality. It ruins the game.

I mean think about it like this, I see this raid come out, and now I have to go through not one, but three difficulties to get the real version of a boss? WHY?

I’ve had it. I’m just gonna go and play skyrim or try Diablo 2. But Diablo 3 and 4 can just go to hell.

Disregarding your tone and insults and presuming you are posting in good faith, as opposed to just rage-baiting, I am going to give you some good advice:

play what you want, not what you “should.”

AKA “if all the cool kids jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?” (maybe, if it meant never having to hear that from you again, mom)

But seriously though. Diablo 1 was only “ARPG” inasmuch as A Link to the Past was also. Which is to say, only on the internet where anyone defends anything for the lulz.

Life is WAY too short and precarious to waste it on what someone ELSE thinks. Play what you want. Everyone else can get stuffed.

If you are doing the story, then I’ll assume you are still leveling 1-70. 1-70 is tutorial mode. If you want a challenge while you are doing the story 1-70, turn the difficulty up to Torment 6, then get back to us on how easy it is.

You need to hit level 70. Once you get to level 70, then the end game starts.
When you do, turn it up to T16 with your yellow gear on. You will get your backside handed to you.

If you are playing for the story, D3 isn’t a game for you. There are bad Saturday morning cartoons with better written stories. D1 and D2’s stories were far less complicated and far superior. They are doing you a favor only making you run through it once. Rush through it and get to adventure mode, where the real game is.

Adventure Mode, non-season for GR pushing will cause you to miss the timer with most sets.

This is the D3 that I like most, especially when I was green to the mechanics and there were others to play with.

The Campaign in D3 is, indeed, just a Tutorial now. Especially since you no longer have to complete it to unlock Adventure Mode in Non Season. It does let you get familiar with the maps, skills, and monster types, which will come in handy when you actually get to the more difficult levels.
It is possible to raise the difficulty, you know.
In addition to what others have said, just try playing Adventure Mode in Hardcore on the highest level it will allow. You will definitely get your backside handed to you.

You don’t even have to do it once if you don’t want to. That restriction was removed some time ago.

Diablo 2 is a legendary game you should try it.

Diablo 3 is a joke.

Diablo 4 is a chore.

Diablo 2 was fun, but was a product of it’s time.

Yes, Diablo 4 is a chore. You can tell most who were saying they were having a blast with it were just trying to wind people up because their rationale is never coherent. However, it has a lot of potential. They just need to stop rushing games that are clearly not ready.

Diablo 2 Resurrected might be fun for you. Otherwise turn up the difficulty if its too easy?

I’d love to tell people that as someone who played more D2 than they would like to admit but trying something as dated as D2 after having tried games like you have now can be a hard sell.

You are still going to spam one or 2 attacks and chew past mobs in D2.

It seems that Diablo core gameplay just isn’t made for you. I suggest you just move on to other games.

If you skipped d2 id totally play D2R. Its practically a new game still. Good exercise :muscle:

I can only agree.
Those games are not very interesting to play.

Give Diablo 2 Resurrected a try. It plays like a modern game. However, it is also on the easy side, but I would rate its combat higher than many of the newest A-RPGs.

Honestly, consider giving Nioh 1 and 2 a try. Very similar to Diablo with loot and such, but more engaging combat.

Also, a new A-RPG, No Rest for the Wicked, is in early access, claiming to go against the trend of boringly easy A-RPG combat. Haven’t tried it though.

I certainly wouldn’t bother with Diablo 4 given your described preferences. When it released it was quite good, but it is basically turning into Diablo 3 now.

Diablo 2 is not easy. Very few people have beat the game through hell by themselves. People say it’s easy because people carry them through the game and give them items.

Broseph - come on now…that song is getting overplayed.

Better when it was released? What the…?

/smh

Easy in the sense that the counter to difficulty is more about gear, than how you play.

and to add, once T16 is doable, start doing greater rifts that scale much higher.

Yes? Positioning, keeping up buffs, playing peek-a-boo with Elites; all for good fun.

You don’t need to remember anything.

You can still play the Campaign for a feel of nostalgia and tell people that you have played and finished it. It won’t take you 40 hours either.

With Reaper of Souls expansion pack addition, there aren’t three difficulties anymore, nor mandatory requirement of clearing a Campaign fully before moving forward. I was taking you serious until here.

Apparently it’s even worse in D4. :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah, as everyone said, bump the difficulty up. That’s what it’s there for.
