I can not use infernal machines

I am farming infernal machines in Torment IV level. I have all kinds. When I pick them up it says “Torment only” and I can not use them. Is there any help for this? I came back to D3 recently after years break. I have leveled my DH to level 70, paragon lvl 421 atm,I am trying to farm for equipment. Thank you in advance for help and solution.

Are you trying to use them in the correct location in Tristram?

yes, In heretic’s abode, inside the house close to healer Brother Malachi

…and the charcter you are attempting to open the portal with is on T1 or higher? I only ask because you might be confused about what torment level is:

That should be Paragon level. Torment is the difficulty of the game you are in.

I can open game up to torment level XVI - if it means difficulty . And yes my paragon level is 421 atm,

That is normal… go in the Heretic’s Abode and right click the machine to create a portal.

 
 

Or, are you getting this message when you right-click the machine ? :

That normally occurs when the game level is below Torment I; leave the game and increase the difficulty level to at least Torment I.

I have it as first picture says {torment only}. I went to the house in the game I am in, I have tried and it works - thank you so much.

I never realized that. But then, I normally don’t like to run the Realms until I can do them safely on T10 at least — More Hellfire Mats per Machine.

Even better on T13: Guaranteed 3 HMats per Machine.

And best of all on T16: Guaranteed 4 HMats per Machine.
