Gday.
I know this topic has been posted numerous amounts of times on these forums and reddit discussions, yet none of the solutions I’ve managed to google actually did anything to this issue.
The problem is only experienced in 4-man groups and only with certain combination of builds. For example, my last few games I was doing just keyfarming in public games and we had 2 lon-mage necromancer. As soon as both of them spawn on the map and pop up those max amounts of mages I can barely move or do anything.
This not the latency issue nor connection issue, at least my latency indicator stays “green” and I don’t see any latency drops when lag occurs, the game is just stuttering and freezing randomly. We just kill a rift guardian and few minors enemies approach to our position and as they do - those 20 (I believe, max is 10 mages per necro with ring?) mages start attacking those minor enemies at the same time and I clearly see that my game is freezing at these moments. Same happens if I play with necros running that corpse lance build when they launch corpse lances on consuming a corpse - in speed runs its just horrible. And its not only the necromancer, pretty much any class/build that is capable of producing a lot of projectiles is causing those stuttering/lag/freeze issues.
So my question is, is there a way in this game to tune down the AMOUNT of rendered projectiles / graphical effects density? Maybe some additional “hidden” options for D3Prefs or anything? Maybe some some SharpDX mods for Diablo 3 or DX9-to-DX12 API proxy?
I know that one can play around with:
MipOffset “0”
MipBias “-0.000000”
But those turn down everything and the game pretty much looks like trash.
I already have these settings:
DisplayModeMSAALevel “0”
ShadowQuality “0”
ShadowDetail “0”
PhysicsQuality “0”
ClutterQuality “0”
Letterbox “0”
Antialiasing “0”
DisableScreenShake “1”
DisableChromaEffects “1”
LowFX “1”
SSAO “0”
DisableTrilinearFiltering “1”
ReflectionQuality “0”
HardwareClass “1”
Sounds, sound channels - everything is already set to minimal/disabled. I tried both x86 and x64 clients.
My hardware is:
1050ti
i7-7700HQ
16gb ddr4
The game is running on an ssd
No multi-tasking, wired 100mbit connection
In nvidia control panel everything is also set to “best performance”
Game runs perfectly smooth in solo games and the vast majority of public games until I get matched up with people running one of those builds and the only assumption I can make is that those projectile effects on DirectX 9 are causing it - like, what else can it be?
This is really the first game I’m experiencing such horrible performance issues with, and I’ve already disabled/tuned to minimum pretty much every available graphics settings for this game.
