How/Where to increase MF %age & some item listed below

Hello ,

  1. How can I increase my magic find %age?
  2. How or where can I find the following item in game -
    a. Wall of Man
    b. Cloask of Deception
    c. Reaper’s Wraps
    d. Hell fire Ring
    e. Avarice Band ( i think this is in Act 3 Bounties, i couldnt be wrong cause I have done act 3 bounties but didnt get any),

I am using a DH to do all my farming.

Thanks

  1. Play at a higher difficulty level
2a. Crafted through a plan, random drop
2b. Dropped randomly from act 2 or 4 caches.
2c. Crafted through a plan, dropped from Malthael post 61
2d. Crafted though a recipe purchased from Squirt in Act 2 and materials obtained from infernal machines
2e. Act 3 or 4 caches. Could be bad luck.

Don’t bother with the stat itself. It’s all but depreciated in D3. Very few items give MF, and most of them are low level.

Like Mattelot said, increasing the difficulty will natively increase MF. Same goes for GRs, the higher the GR the more native MF (up to GR100).

With double caches from the Altar it shouldn’t take too long. Some items can be “stubborn” to get. After some solo runs I ended up with two Avarice rings :hushed:

Edit: the ring is already on the barbarian’s templar…

OP,

Are you certain that all the items you listed have magic find? I do not think they do. Blizzard largely eliminated magic find from items.

Lastly, magic find has very limited usefulness in terms of getting legendaries in D3.

@AciStorM

There are two Hellfire Ring Designs sold by Squirt. Make sure you purchase the one that costs 5,000,000 Gold. (The 2 mil one is for Diablo III Vanilla).

I believe they’re asking two separate questions here:

  1. How/Where to increase Magic Find percentage.
  2. How/Where to find the items listed. (Not necessarily with MF on them).

Good point, thank you.

No, I dont think any of the item i mentioned contain MF. I am just curious. Saw MF on character Status page.

Thanks

Wearing some items may help but I think magic find was hard capped now? As far as I know only Nagelring has a massive 50% magic find in the lootable items. Additionally some old craftable legacy Set items such as Asheara’s Iron Fist from Asheara’s Uniform Set and Cain’s Robes from Cain’s Fate Set have those. Cain’s Fate also grants some extra magic find if you equip another piece from the same Set. Pay a visit to your Blacksmith and see if you have acquired those recipes yet from farming.

Again, it’s a worthless chase. Why? Because magic find only affect legendary/Set loot with a 1/10 efficiency; when you have 100% mf, you’ll only see 10% more legendaries that’s all. Also, if you were to equip both of these mentioned items you wouldn’t be able to maintain 6-piece bonus of your class Set. It’s in vain to even attempt.
However, Followers share 1/5th of their own magic find with you. You can craft those items and equip them at your Follower with Nagelring for a measly 20-22% more magicfind then for a boost just wear the Nagelring on your character without any major losses. This combination supposed to make you hit 70-72% magicfind.

The point is, you don’t exactly need more magic find, when entering Visions of Enmity and finishing Greater Rifts make the loot rain from the sky anyway. It is worthless to equip those items besides the novelty value or while leveling an alt character.

You can easily web search those. Really. The Reaper’s has to be looted from Malthael as a craft recipe first. Hellfire Ring recipe can be bought with gold from an Act 2 vendor. Rest of them are looted from Horadric Caches either as a Blacksmith craft recipe or as loot; act 2 and act 3, respectively.

AFAIK once you’re past GR 90 it doesn’t get you more/better loot. At that point it’s entirely EXP that you’re benefitting from.

There is just a theory that GR 100s have a higher chance of all 12 drops being legendary. Also if the speed is the same you’ll get more bloodshards pr hour.

To maximize loot gained from GRs the speed is everything. If that is your goal, it’s recommended to run the highest GR tier above GR90 you can do in 2 min or less.

Doing very high but slow GRs won’t improve your odds of getting better gear.

Thanks everyone, Great help all. Appreciate it .

Magic find was a thing before ROS Add-on. Your kinda in a way wasting you time OP with trying equip magic find items. Before ROS items didn’t fall like items do today like rain.

I have been playing my Davey account and I’m still below 24 hrs of playing time. At about 800 paragon and already have 8 or 9 items augmented. Plus most of the stuff I got from doing bounties too. Plus I have only done about 30 GR’s too.

Like people are saying just play T16 lvl games and 90 to 110 GR’s.

As I have pointed out earlier the barbarian’s follower (templar) already has one equipped.

It gets as good as it’s going to get after GR109. Although, I don’t know the exact Level that it peaks.

The operative phrase here being “a higher chance.  Not a theory anymore. I once believed this too…   until a few days ago on the Asia Region. Luckily, I took some screenshots.

Asia Region, Greater Rift 90

11 Legendary items, counting Hellforge Ember

Asia Region, Greater Rift 100

11 Legendary items, counting Hellforge Ember and Essence of Anguish Shard

Asia Region, Greater Rift 109

11 Legendary items, counting Hellforge Ember

I’m sure more items dropped. But, my Pet salvaged anything that wasn’t Legendary.

Edit: I’m currently farming Greater Rifts 120 to GR122 for Primal items and Paragon Points on the Americas Region. So far, I’m getting 12 Legendary items per GRift. They take me 5 to 6 minutes to successfully complete.

I noticed that one of the item types dropping is not included in the pool. So that we can get more than twelve drops. Can’t remember exactly as it was more than a week ago I counted and noticed. Maybe it is Hellforge Embers?

Back in the long, long-ago times of vanilla D3, before Reaper of Souls, we had the Paragon v1 system. The maximum paragon level back then was 100 and for every paragon level you got, you would gain…

  • 3% Magic Find
  • 3% Gold Find
  • 3 Main Stat
  • 1 to both non-main stats
  • 2 Vitality

So, by getting to Paragon 100, you’d get 300% MF and it was still possible to go over this by wearing items that had +MF on them. Back then, there was no Adventure Mode, so you’d be playing Campaign maps over and over for drops.

Then came Reaper of Souls, Loot v2, Paragon v2, and changes to all sorts of loots and affixes. You no longer got +MF from your paragon level, because it was no longer capped at 100 paragon and instead your chance to get high level loot improved with each difficulty level and there were a lot more difficulty levels too.

These days… https://d3resource.com/difficulties/index.php …as an example, the legendary drop chance whilst in a Nephalem Rift goes from 25% at Normal difficulty all the way up to 1760% at Torment 16. This is why the occasional item with +10MF is pretty much inconsequential nowadays because no-one’s going to notice the difference between a 1760% and 1770% drop chance.

GR 90 has the max quantity of drops, 12, with 10 guaranteed legs, and two rolls (which can be legs but can also be others). GR100 also has the max 12, but all 12 are quaranteed legs.

How the seasonal shards and embers factor into those totals, I’m not sure. They may alter it slightly.

Not always.
