Hello,
I played through the campaign a while back and then one night did some runs with a higher level friend from work. Once we were done I felt really unsatisfied because I didn’t grind to earn the gear I got and completely overwhelmed with all the stuff he hooked me up with. I want to go back and start from scratch with no gold, characters or stash and grind my way back.
I started doing seasons which I really enjoy so far and it would be nice when the seasons ends that I can carry over my stuff to non-season but not deal with all the excessive gems and gold I have.
I opened a trouble ticket but support stated there was no way to to get this done and suggested posting in the forums to suggest this becoming a possible feature. I know changing regions might be an option but I would like to stay on the one I live on for connectivity reasons.
Does anyone know of a way to do this or if it is even possible ?
Thanks
You could always try a new hero on HC if you are into that type of game mode.
- That would be a fresh start.
Well I don’t know what server you play on but I’m assuming your in NA. Anyway you could also change your server to EU and start from scratch as you like or there is HC mode as well but there is that risk of getting perm death on your character.
On your ‘main’ account there isn’t a way for you to do this. But there are ways to get a fresh start, so to speak.
- Start a character on a different server (European/American for example).
- Start playing Hardcore.
- Wait for season 23 to start (should be less than a month away).
- Spend all your gold at a vendor before deleting all the items out of your stash, then delete your characters. (The only problem here is that your crafters will remain leveled-up, your stash will still be upgraded, and you’ll still have all your paragons and crafting mats.)
As for that unsatisfied feeling you have, try to set it aside. Getting power-leveled and farming for gear/paragons by leeching off another player are things we all do or have done. It’s a part of the Diablo 3 experience and there’s nothing wrong with it. We do it because after a while, the process of leveling from 1-70 and then grinding for gear on low torments gets really old. Most of the exciting play happens after all that, when your build is in place and you’re playing T16+ with friends. The fine folks at Blizzard understand this, which is why they do things like hand out a free item set every season to speed things along.
As for gold, it doesn’t take long for it to become a meaningless resource without anything to spend it on short of adding an addition gem level on each Grift you do. Gold piles up fast… just let it.
Start a seasonal character. Season is still live.
No gold, no stash, no paragon, no mats.
Thanks for the input! Reading it over it seems like this is the way.
I’ve always been a super casual player and pretty introverted so I haven’t really built any high level characters except when farming with my work buddy one time. I have been getting back into ARPGs as an outlet recently which is another reason I wanted a fresh so start.
Thanks again for everyone’s input, I appreciate it!
You will either need to create a new account, and purchase D3 again, which seems like overkill, or rely on seasons for that fresh off the farm experience. Or as stated Hardcore.
I personally get where you are coming from, I too like to feel as if I have earned everything myself. You shouldn’t feel obligated to play any other way; it’s your game after all
All of us do that? Pretty bold statement. Nope, not even once.
You only have 2 seasonal characters, neither of which are at level 70. You literally have nothing of value, so I’m not sure what the issue is. You have no paragon points to worry about, it doesn’t look like you have the cube, and all your gems are low level.
If you really want to start over, just craft items until your crafting mats and gold are used up. If you still have left-over gold, just keep buying items from vendors, then discard them on the ground and exit the game. You can also empty your stash onto the ground and exit the game to get rid of your items. Finally, delete your characters. Then you can create a new character and essentially start over.

Delete you gear and Hero’s and just start over. If you dont want paragon points just done assign them.
Do not understand the whole thing your trying to get at. Sounds like you just need to play some more and figure out what to break down/delete and what to keep. Just start a new hero. Your making a problem when there is no problem. Just play.
