How to get upgraded gear with high P and low CR?

I appear to be in a catch 22. I have a paragon level above 230 and a CR below 2800. I can’t run Hell IV because of low CR and my gear drop is penalized in Hell III for high paragon level. How do I work with this to get new gear?

This is the Diablo 3 forum, not the Immortal forum.

My bad, I started on a Diablo Immortal page, didn’t realize the navigator took me off of it.

Hang around someone will help you even if this is not the Immortal forum.

Gear drop is based on your challenge rift level.

You need to complete challenge rift 95 to get H4 gear.

And as Avalon said - The D:($) folks are over on reddit, and D:($) players are not welcomed here.

I never said that. We have a few people who post about Immortal. Some of them refuse to follow basic instructions from Blizzard and others do not know that reddit is the place for Immortal. How many times has our CM posted on this forum? Blizzard is more active on other platforms. Just like they said they would be.

I have not played Diablo Immortal but I’m gonna take a wild guess and suggest you spend more money to solve your problem.

Literally and figuratively. One of the best ways to get gear is to use gold and hilts. Both can be farmed, sort of, or bought with real dolla-dollars, yo.

Better question is why are you playing Diablo Immortal.

Because it is more fun than grinding the same Grift 20 maps over in D3.

Hehe, that’s a good one - very funn…oh wait, you were serious?

So edgy.

DI is not a bad game at all. It only falls apart at the PvP endgame. Otherwise it’s a solid RPG that is refreshingly different from its predecessors, which is especially true if one just wants to experience the story.

Why wouldn’t they be? Their statement isn’t really ambiguous.

I’m at a point in D3 where it’s purely alternating NRs/GRs for a low chance at 0.1% power increases. Having DI to play is absolutely a good thing to break up the monotony of D3’s end game.

I am quite serious - I haven’t played D3 since the launch of D:($). The shadow wars are a blast, the Purge the Depths dungeon is a classic Diablo II style dungeon (took me nearly an hour to finish), and we are getting new content added on a roughly 2 - 3 week schedule.

As an added bonus, the developers are finally getting the idea that not everybody wants to do everything in a group (this has been a major gripe since launch). As of tomorrow - all dungeons, on all levels are soloable. Which means that a whole lot of us will finally be able to grind for our legendary gear, and start closing the distance on the whales.

At some point the devs will catch on that the best activity for PvP is hot warband on warband action in the battlegrounds. Once they reach that conclusion - it is going to be incredible. People really want this, rather than what we actually have. Wyatt will have to get over it.

AFA monetization - it is a choice. If you are a battle pass player - your can make your way to the top, it simply takes a little longer. You can reach Legend status in the PvP battlegrounds just as easily as the idiots spending thousands of dollars - because their win rate is the same as the freeloaders - around 50%.

The key in PvP is simply to understand the victory conditions.

Getting patched into the game in the maintenance starting in a couple of minutes (EU)…

Gameplay

  • The party requirement for dungeons in Hell difficulties has been removed.

At least now you could solo-farm whichever dungeon(s) you need gear from without having to wait for 1-3 other players to help.

Also, are you doing the Challenge Rifts? If you successfully complete a solo CR95 this makes it possible for Hell 4 gear to be obtained in Elder Rifts, from Bestiary hand-ins, Immortal vs Shadows stuff (i.e. Vault raiding as a Shadow), and from the Antiquities NPC in Westmarch. Once completed, you could buy 10 main armour and 10 weapon items from the Antiquities NPC each day (he’ll sell up to 25, but the price goes up steeply per item after 10 so it’s not worth it in terms of bang for your buck). Going from H3 to H4 items should provide a significant CR boost. Oh, and of course, the crystals you earn from completing CRs are the materials needed to do rank upgrades of your set items at the Blacksmith, which adds CR to the items.

I’ll bet you are still wearing set gear you received below paragon 100.

The set bonus is practically useless till you’re in HV.

Every rare item that has higher stats you should wear over that old set gear.
You will find your CR jumps by the hundreds.
