How do your equip a follower in multiplayer on Season 23 in order to complete Act 2 objective “fully equip a follower”. When either of us go up to the 3 followers in town, nothing happens. No dialogue text appears, nor any text appears saying “ press A” nor “join”. So we are at a lost as to how do we complete this objective when we can even interact with a follower. Please help. This is on Xbox one.
You can’t. In multiplayer followers are not allowed. Just do it in a solo game…

I don’t know about consoles, but at the beginning of a new season, my friends and I will all join a new game together, and the first thing we do is take the weapons from our followers, since they are better than ours.
You don’t have to hire them in order to do this. You can click the follower, and select “Inventory and skills”.
This will also allow you to fully gear them in a multiplayer game.
On PC, there is no part of the season journey that requires you to leave multiplayer in order to complete it.
Also, there is a dedicated forum for consoles. This is the PC forum and also, it is not a bug.

Thank you for the responses. I’ve heard that we can and that we can’t. I will go over to the consoles section and see.
You cannot hire a follower in a multiplayer game but you can certainly equip one.
As stated above, open Inventory and skills and move equipment over.
This is on Xbox one console. It won’t allow us to interact with any of them. Nothing appears when we get next to them.
GR 20 Solo?

Ask the other players to decline the GR.
We usually take turns in the solo GR while the others are rolling gear in town.
