How powerful did LoD BS used to be before its nerf?

Sure, it’s an additional 6x multiplier against single targets. However currently it barely helps since your Leniency stacks drop to single digits too. Akkhan’s Manacles don’t compensate nearly enough for that loss.

The upcoming change will make maintaining stacks much easier, shifting the balance from trash clearing to more even between groups and single targets.

With good density it’s more like 60-70 stacks easily. 30 or less was more likely with rubbish densities in bad maps.

Before a godly clear at 5k paragon was GR135-136.

Things are different now. There is less value in attack speed.

  • Will Pain Enhancer still be meta? Or will BoP or Gogok become meta?
  • Will we still want attack speed on our rings?
  • Will we prefer using a 2h flail in hand, over Gyrfalcon’s?
  • Is Combust still the best rune? Is there now more value in the other runes?

Quite a bit to figure out here, and priorities will shift in SSF.

Sorting out this build is a fun riddle to solve.

I think wielding Akkhan’s Leniency and cubing Gyrfalcon’s Foote might be the way go since maintaining the stacks is no longer dependent on atttack speed. You should be able to reach max stacks and be able to maintain them with a slower weapon. We can get more attack speed from other sources if necessary, fiddle with paragon allocation, etc.

Testing, this requires testing.

You lose 15% CD and 15% AS from the passive though if you use 2hander in MH…and CD is EXTREMELY important in this build considering you need 77.8% to have 100% uptime for Akarat’s

In the season at least you can compensate with paragon. Get as much CHC and CHD as possible on the gear and put their paragon points to AS and CDR. While CHC and CHD are additive with gear affixes, AS and CDR are multiplicative so having those as large as possible in the paragon is much more beneficial.

I did alter my current ready to go build and it IS stronger.
The tradeoffs are:
3.33APS → 2.5APS (with AS Pylon buff)
100% Akarat’s uptime → 2.54s Akarat’s downtime
23.7T dmg → 29.3Tdmg
And having to throw 160 into CD, used 23 in AS to hit next breakpoints on APS with and without AS pylon and rest went into CHD. Definately stronger, so it could be viable at a slower AS rate.

It is stronger if you don’t mind slower health recovery.

Sadly, I don’t think this was much of a buff… here’s why…

When you solo on live in 2.7.5, you’re averaging around 72-80 stacks in density with a PE, for majority of the rift.

When you’re fighting the boss, you’ll build your stricken then pop a pylon w/ nemesis, you’re getting somewhere between 40-75 stacks depending on the boss, and or the nemesis bracer spawning an illusionist.

This Akkhan’s Leniency buff worth 2-3GRs in the Grift… and maybe shaves off another 1:30 on the boss, which is pretty much another 1GR.

I’d chalk this up to a 3-4GR buff, which is still too weak and fully explains why it feels like a B-tier build. I’d like to see Blessed Shield end up near LoD Bomb, for this to happen Akkhan’s Leniency must be set to 100% per stack, preferably with a 10 second duration.

bumping this because I plan on playing it soon.

Found a primal fire akkhans manacles bracer. the only bad stat is the bottom secondary. that is really hard to roll ancient so I am very happy. Gonna prob use the crafted primal on the flail (another stinker). Have a practically primal witching hour, a nice variety of boots, pants, gloves. Just need to make some jewelry and it will go time.

Let us know how it goes. I still feel the build could need some buffs but it’s playable

On the PTR, I felt the plateau at around GR132-133. It’ll top out at GR136-137 in season.

The build outcome was disappointing. IMHO it should have been 100% damage per stack, I’d rather have the raw damage than the QoL at a single target boss.

For S30, let’s hope they stick Blessed Shield on the Seeker of the Light set.
