How players got primal ancients so fast?!

I just checked many top players and see them wearing almost full deck of primal ancients already, how the heck do they get so many primals only few days into the season? do they keep reforging legendary or just keep upgrading rares? because farming bounties is so boring and tedious for me, i can barely farm around 300 mats b4 quitting, how many mats do I need to roll a primal on average?

Is this the PC version or the console version?

They just cheat on the console version.

About 1 in 400 legnedaries is primal, so its going to be about 2000 of each material on average. Sometimes you’ll roll a primal within the first 10 rolls, other times you’ll burn through way more than 2000 and have nothing for your efforts. Better just to try for a well rolled Ancient item, which will be pretty much as a good as a Primal.

I don’t mind running bounties, but they’re a poor use of time compared to Neph Rifts and GR’s if you’re really looking to advance your character and/or improve your gear.

And let’s not forget the 50 forgotten souls per reforge so you need 20000 on average. That’s a really high amount of mats

By using bots to farm materials. And / or having no life. Your pick :man_shrugging:

Yep, forgot about those. The reforge cost is way too high for the time it takes most players to accumulate the materials required. 2 of each bounty mat and 5 Forgotten Souls would be a much more appropriate level.

You can’t just give ‘most players’ the best gear in the game easily.

It used to be that ‘most players’ couldn’t get legendaries. But now legendaries coming out that wazoo aren’t enough.

Why not?

12 characters required.

They may have primals but are they any good? A badly rolled primal is junk compared to well rolled ancient or even normal legendary.

Without talking about the whole philosophical reasons, it basically kills the game. Getting best gear easily does not make players stick around and play more with that gear, it makes them play less as their goal is pretty much met. And they wait til new content is released, repeat it, then go dormant again. Less traffic of users/playing players, game dies (well, not necessarily ‘dies’ but deterioration of popularity, activity).

Primals are over rated. My ancient items 90% of the time are much better than their primal version. And people are still sweating over them. It’s just a show of, an achivement if you will, that you are dedicated to grind 24/7 in the game. Big wow.

There are two ways

They either play like a bot (many many hours a day of efficient farming) or actually bot (I’m not here to make any accusations though)

Assuming you’re talking about actually well rolled primals of course.

Agreed. People seem to be often obsessed about them.

Im obsessed about the fact most are useless. There shouldn’t be useless primals.

Primals were much stronger when they originally released but nobody liked that because of their drop rate being so low. D3 power creep is a difficult beast to tame for sure especially with it’s funky itemization.

No… they weren’t.

There is this one guy on my list, he has been grinding 15 hours a day for many seasons, gaining his 4000 paragons mostly by doing solo or group bounties. He has some killer primals, though I don’t envy him xD

They were. They actually could roll higher than a normal Ancient. That was absolutely stupid in terms of power creep and the big gap a good rolled primal would give your average botter.

They can still roll higher than an ancient.

Unless they changed it without me noticing it, last time I checked they could only give perfect ancient-level rolls. Not 10% higher than the maximum of an ancient.
