I’ve seen posts saying people should just switch servers if they have problems. How do you do that? I am in New Zealand, I default to the North American server, and I have no idea how to change that.
Before you launch the game, you can change the region by clicking the globe icon next to the Diablo III wording above the play button in the launcher. Then choose the realm you want.
Keep in mind, your characters will not be the same on each realm. They do not share data. If you have never played on another realm, you will have nothing there, it will be like a new account.
Here are instructions on changing Diablo 3’s default server pool. Hopefully the pools are still relevant.
@DTMAce: D3 has ANZ specific servers. That’s what the OP is asking for.
Since this is just a short-term problem, if you don’t want to dig into settings and VPNs, you can just ask someone to make a game for you.
So someone in NA makes a game. That game will be hosted on a NA server. They then invite you from aus to the game. You are now in a game hosted on a NA server. The NA person can then leave the game if they want, and as long as you don’t leave the game, you can keep playing on the NA server as long as you want.
I just asked in general chat for someone in NA to make a game for me.
In the Battle․net App, go to the Game Settings for D3 and check the box for Additional command line arguments. Then, use one of the following lines to connect through the server you want.
Region | Server | Command Line Argument | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Americas | NA | OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=Default | ||
Americas | AU | OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=AU1 | ||
Americas | SA | OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=SA1 | ||
Asia | TW | OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=TW3 | ||
Asia | KR | OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=Default | ||
Europe | EU | OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=Default |
Really, the NA servers are coded as “Default”? That’s hilarious!
Or was that written by someone in NA, and will only work for someone in NA?
Blizzard is an American company. (Based in California, I believe. You know: PST/PDT?) It’s obvious that their “Default” servers are “NA” servers.
Not sure why the Europe server uses the same. It may depend on what Region you log in to the Battle․net App with.
You ok? You seem a bit off lately.
Possibly. At my age, it only gets worse from here on out.
Deckard, is that you???
