Blizzard used to be one of my favorite game developers…I went from having multiple blizz games installed to only 1…D3
played WoW since 2007 and SL made me unsub and uninstall. OW is (for lack of a better term) absolute trash. HoTS and SC2 are just plain boring too me and waste of HD space. D3 is the only Blizz game I have installed and it’s barely hanging on by a thread. I really only play the first couple weeks of the season, get my journey and forget about it till next season.
I really wonder how this happened…did Blizzard just lose their touch, did I just outlive the novelty of these games? maybe I’m just older now and my taste in games has changed…idk what the answer is I just find it rather…interesting lol
I’m in a similar boat I guess, I’ve tried most blizzard games at least once, but Diablo 3 is the only game I constantly play. I dont know why specifically tho. I think a big part of why I keep playing D3 are the friends and clanmates I get to play with whenever i’m on. I find it enjoyable when im running Greater Rifts while chatting with other players via Discord about their life and current events. Diablo 3 pretty much became a social activity for me, games help you connect with other people around the world. If I didnt have friends to play with I’d probably just finish the season journey and look elsewhere for entertainment lol.
While I will be quick to argue that the quality of Blizzards games have declined, Diablo is at the forefront of that decline, not the one game remaining.
WOW has become a hot disjointed mess. Plus the same old fetch and kill quests get old. Nonsensical currencies etc etc. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy storyline makes more sense than Shadowlands lol.
Games are just a novelty and more likely you grew tired of them. I’ve been playing WoW non stop since spring 2004, when I got testing access. Today is the first day WoW has not been installed on my PC.
I generally approve of their direction, and liked SL, but I’ve just grown tired of needing to rely on others for my personal goals. So I’m done. I’m not asking for soloable raids or anything, it’s just time to move on from MMOs
Beat SC2 and haven’t felt compelled to to go back or play another RTS. I just don’t have the patience for thise games any more.
OW, HotS, D3, and HS are all still fun for me and I have multiple other game of the same genre installed that I play as well.
I know it’s easy to claim the company is out of touch, but they just follow greater gaming trends that you may be out of touch with.
I wish people would understand that “good” is an entirely subjective concept.
I think Shadowlands has some issues, but I don’t hate it. Still playing it to see where it goes.
Tons of people hate D3. I thoroughly enjoy it. It’s a Sanctuary (pun intended) for me from the WoW crowd when I need one.
I tried Overwatch. Wasn’t quite for me. A lot of people like it.
I prefer my steak medium rare. Some people think that’s disgusting and prefer theirs well done.
Different strokes. And yes, our tastes change as we get older.
Far as WoW, I’m curious if there will be a WOTLK classic. If there will be I might jump all over that. That was my favorite expansion in that game.
I …currently have wow, overwatch and both starcrafts installed. Oh and HS though I don’t play that much any more. Diablo 3 I enjoy on console (like I legit hate it on PC lmao) and I hate MOBAs with the passion of a thousand dying stars so the only times I played HOTS was when they were letting you unlock overwatch skins lol
wow is a game I leave and come back to on the regular, so I like to keep it patched. I know I’ll always come back for at least a couple of months a year during a down point with the game and longer during high points. Overwatch I play regularly.
