HotA and Weapons

Hi, Barbs! I need ur help with my HotA weapon stats.
I play both LoD and IK versions with same WW playstyle.
Remorseless is the hardest peace of gear to find, probably. But right now we have a 11th cube recipe, so it is no problem anymore.
I checked both US-Barb forum and Maxroll guides, but still cant understand what weapon combinations and stats are the best.

First of all, we talk about non-season only and 3K paragon Barb.
Lets start with IK HotA.
I play PE gem and primal Sankis as 2nd weapon (20 fire, 24ad, 10cdr).
But what about Remorseless? 10dmg, 7ias, 24ad as Maxroll guide? Or 1000str instead of 10% dmg? Or mb 10cdr for Ground stomp and BoM activation? I think 7ias, 10cdr, 24ad is the best option for safe Ground Stomp timing, but we lose some dmg then.

LoD HotA.
I use primal Echoing Fury with 10dmg, 7ias, 24ad as 2nd weapon.
What about Remorseless? 24ad and 10cdr are must have i guess. What about 3rd stat? 1000str, 10dmg, 7ias or mb elite damage? What do u think/play?

Hey Yzer,

For IK HotA, you only need enough CDR to get Stomp down to an 8 second cooldown, which is 33.33%. A couple more % on your sheet wouldn’t hurt, but beyond that it’s just a waste. I think the most efficient way to get that is 10% paragon + 10% enchantress + 12.5% diamond + 8% Shoulder, which gets you to 34.80% sheet. So I do think I would go with 24 AD + 10% dmg, and then either Str or 7% IAS, depending on your paragon/mainstat.

Str vs dmg% (or IAS), is always going to be based on your paragon/current mainstat. Below 20000 mainstat, 1000 Str on weapon will always be better than 10% damage (assuming dual-wielding). Well above 20000 mainstat, 10% damage will almost always be better. Right around 20k, just take your pick, maybe favoring the Str a little because of the extra toughness it brings.

And IAS on your weapons here looks like it saves about a half frame, which with high PE stacks takes you from maybe a 12.5 frame to 12, which is about 4.2% extra damage. So, not quite as good as dmg%.

For LoD, I would definitely take AD and CDR, then for 3rd stat take 10% dmg if well over 20k STR, or take 1000 Str if at or under 20k STR.

Hey, Rage!
Ty for answer!

I have 24K+ str at IK and LoD barbs, then 10% dmg is always better.
I play with Templar as IK-HotA Barb, but I have 10% cdr on my Sankis to replace Enchantess cdr buff. So I will pick Remorseless with 10% dmg, 7% ias and 24% ad.

And for LoD I will try to craft 10% dmg, 10% cdr and 24% ad. Do not have it yet. But I have some time before season ends. Double Primal drop is really cool perk for 11th cube recipe farming =)

I pushed HOTA a lot in S27 with the cool sanctified power and then lost all interest in it this season. Last night RNGesus blessed me with a primal remorseless drop with good rolls. I guess that’s a sign to go smash face again.

Also keep in mind that the empowered shrine potion proc from the altar makes the CDR requirements much less painful for LOD HOTA.

HOTA is not as sexy without the big SPOILIONS every five seconds but its probably just as powerful this season. Its just no one is really playing it atm, lol. FRenzy and reakor are too good.

I do not like Raekor, but Frenzy feels really good.
HotA is for non-season only for me =)

you get free shoulder and boot slots in hota this season too, cause you dont need the ancients and are immune to CC.

There is no good shoulders or boots to replace anyway.

mantle of channeling for when you WW. Boots can be anything now. The flame ones are fun & so are lut socks.

It’s actually a little stronger this season than last.

Pretty much dead even with Frenzy in the current season… Rend, Frenzy, and HotA all have really comparable power now.

Hey Yzer,

I’ve been pushing IK HOTA a bit lately, just took rank 1 NA (non-season), and I wanted to correct some less-than-perfect advice I gave you before.

You actually want to aim for at least 37.5% sheet cooldown. The reason is that while BoM’s effect lasts 8 seconds, the extra mitigation only is triggered after you finish casting whatever skill procs it. In other words, you have to finish your Stomp animation, which takes about 0.5 seconds, in order to actually get the DR, meaning you need to start casting Stomp at least 0.5 seconds before BoM wears off.

That means you need to get Stomp’s cooldown down to 7.5 seconds, which requires 37.5% CDR.

Hitting that mark means getting CDR from Diamond , Paragon , Enchantress , Shoulder , and then one more roll, either on your gloves, a ring, or a weapon.

My apologies if I previously led you into a setup that wasn’t working properly!

Ty again, Rage!
I did not push yet, so it is OK.
Just gathering gear and information for future =)
I think, quad gloves is the best slot for additional cdr roll, but it is so hard to get…
I’m rolling gloves from Kadala an waiting for Primal.
