the only good class to play is wizard (you can be naked and skill be number 1 in pvp), I made a wizard as my 2nd guy in less than 8 days, i have 112 paragon and CR2280 (CR is combat rating) 2120 is the break to no have a negative hit to do hell 3, as a wizard I was able to farm hell 3 with 1890cr.
you will get bored with the game before you can become helpful at endgame. This really isnt a gamers game, its more like a casuals game. Blizzard limits your ability to do more stuff you want to do in game, plus they only allow a certain about of “battle points” you can earn for the week (if you pay or not) its a really small number and if you are a “true gamer” you can hit that weekly limit in only 18 hours of playing.
There are definitely support-like abilities available to heroes. For example, I know one of the options on the Barbarian’s Demoralise is to make affected enemies take more damage (from all sources, i.e. all party members) and there’s a Whirlwind chest that stacks up a debuff on mobs that, at the max 5 stacks, means they take 10% more damage. There’s a set armour that increases the duration of the detrimental effects (i.e. the demoralise). So, sure, you’re not doing zeroDPS, but you can absolutely be support.
That is exactly how one should see this game, or for most at least in my opinion. I started thinking my initial impressions were entirely wrong and that the game is incredibly boring, even with very limited gaming time since it was released. Then I realised how I actually really enjoy it for maybe two hours at a time then just don’t care about doing more.
In a way it is nice since if you have limited time an hour or two here and there can be frustrating with D3 since you feel like you aren’t progressing at all while with this it will feel like you get to scratch the itch it provides.
It’s possible to make support builds in D:I, however you will have to match the teams Combat Rating to be able to help, if not you will be gibbed. It’s not like in D3 where you can do GR 150 with 800 paragon as support by balancing everything you have into DR.
Even the support must be a whale if you want to support other whales.
It doesn’t change the reality that a support build in DI is a thing. I have even read few posts that how a well-played support class can totally shut down their opponent whale.s.
another site I help people on the question comes up alot about combat rating and set bonuses. And its always about the combat rating, i tell people if you are under the 2120 for hell 3 but you have your 4 piece set with lets say the added bonus is you do 10,000 damage (there isnt a set but for simple numbers) and your taking an 80% reduced damage modifer based on your CR in h3, you are only doing 2,000 which is still amazing compared to the 100-284 per hit damage you do, however if you swap out random gears to put you at 2120 or above by a little, your nomal hits now do 2,000-5,000.
This game is 100% combat rating over any kind of “builds”, now if you have the proper CR and you can have a 4 piece set bonus, oh my - you are doing amazing things. As soon as paragon 150 is obtainable, some of those 6 piece sets will be godly!
