ZBarb Solo 150 FTW!
Thatâs mostly due to the season theme proccing area damage, which they already said they will fix before the live patch as it was too late to get it into this iteration of the PTR. They also need to reduce the damage of the season theme a little in addition otherwise GR150 with fishing and seasonal theme luck will definitely be possible.
If you want groups straight away and you dont put in lots of time then
zMonk for Meta 130+
zBarb for Meta 130+ or 100 to 120 Speeds
If you putting in heaps of hours
LoD Necro Grim Sythe or CE for DPS Meta 130+
Day 1 Groups if you put in Hours
DH New Set for Speeds or zDH for same SPeeds
Barb WW now just do it!
If you like playing the barb start with something that gets you paragon faster, swing to that later.
There is a chance that Ninth Sirri Satchelâs drop lvl will be reduced to 11 in next patch. In that case, levelling DH will get much easier. If not, it is better to lvl 1-70 with necro in an hour (cursed chest levelling T1-T2 due to boosted corpse explosion + gloves ) , level up gem of ease, grab Haedrigâs gifts (do not open) and then quick lvl up DH (torment 6 NR, or better: cow lvl, goldwrap in cube) with gem of ease in 70lvl weapon. After lvl 70, you open H. gifts with DH for full Shadows set. Easy and much faster than lvling DH solo with pox faulds
is too much work? and why this baiting? play through comfortably or wait 1-2 days until chat is full with speed boost.
but thanks for tips. very helpful.
This has turned into a great discussion! I originally said, Barb, then DH, but you guys have convinced me to do it the other way, level up the DH first. Then Iâll level the Barb, probably around when I hit paragon 800.
I bet a solo 150 shows up before the end of week 1 anyway.
DH, whether you use the new set or not, is a quick way to go for T-16 farming/bounty mats (Multi-shot is a solid standby).
WW Barb will easily push you into GR 110-120 area pretty fast as well.
Alternatively with the new Changes Solo Necro Mages is strong and tankier now and will carry you pretty far for an easy LoD build.

Like you, I have largely been playing wizards every season, though the new necromancer armour has me thinking of whether to (also) finally purchase the necro set and give it a whirl.
I like barb as well, but am generally more of a âstay far away and bomb from a distanceâ kind of player. Maybe I will try Necro next season too.
As squishy as it is, the first time you play a corpse lance necro with the pestilence set, youâll be happy you spent that money. Just for the fun factor alone. Itâs not a great build and itâs squishy AF but itâs so damn fun! Actually all of the necro stuff is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. And with the new patch it will be a bit tankier.
The downside is that the D2 style skeleton summoner type of necro doesnât really exist anymore. The Command skeletons are just there and they kind of suck unless you to tell them what to attack to make them effective. Jesseth set helps with that but not as much as it should.
Skeleton mages, however, are a different story. Probably one of the most powerful builds for the necro.
Over all Iâd recommend the purchase now that they are adding in much needed changes to the class in the patch. Plus I think you get another stash tab or two with it, and some neat wings.
Iâm a DH main, so I start with that every season, but this season itâll be quicker than most seasons.
Shadow set two piece is a 6000% modifier as long as melee weapon is equipped. There will be two new items that boost bolas, namely Leonine and Emminieâs Duffel.
Equipping the quiver and cubing the bow will get you to T10 pretty much by the time youâve finished Chapter 2 of the journey where you can farm for any set you want to play.
At any rate, Shadow will take you pretty high up in Grifts quickly if you want to roll with that set, but if Shadowâs playstyle doesnât interest you, for an extra 1/2 hour or so of farming at T10 to T13, you can have the pieces of any set you want to try.
Basically, itâs a matter of if you want to start farming after Chapter 2 or if you want to rush through the next two Chapters and farm higher. To me, either or takes pretty close to the same amount of time.
Oh so if DH is the starting class, and 1-70 cursed chests is quite exclusive to necros, what would be most efficient for a DH to do it?
Yeah⌠Iâm planning on playing both necro and dh this season and would normally say level the necro for speed until gem of ease to 25 them boost the DH⌠But shadowsâ strong 2 pc (which can carry to the full set easily) combined with the ease of getting a dagger is quite probably faster at the immediate post lvl 70â>clear grift 70 for primal unlock push.
Do what I do. Roll some dice. I usually roll a 6 sided for gender (odds/evens) and another 6 sided to pick my class. (I exclude the primary or only class I played the previous season from that pick)
Then play.
Game on.
Using the challenge rift reward, DHâs have one 50% chance to roll a lvl 70 rare dagger as Lord Greenstoneâs Fan, that you could cube early on, that combined with Pinpoint Accuracy sets you up very early to act like a RGK.
Combine that with Death Watch Mantle at lvl 30, wonât take you very long to run torrent lvls.
What I usually do is spend a few days decided what to play and coming up with a plan of attack, then when the moment arises, I play something entirely different on a whim.
Barb!
