Those two items are not relevant anymore, would be nice a nice and usefull revamp for both items, heck imagine a bonus if both hellfire jewl pieces are being used?
The ring is useful for leveling alternate characters.
The amulet is useful for non-Squirt’s solo, since Flavor of Time is no longer “required” due to emanation.
So, no, I disagree that a total revamp is needed. Like most things, they have a place (exceptions do exist, naturally.) Whether you use it or agree, is your biscuit.
Hellfire ring and amulet are useful for a “leveling set”.
Amulet for a “stupid” build like my “Sibuna”, to farm Rainbow Gobs is “useful”.
So, do you want an “Hellfire” set?
Gain?
Aye 2 item set would be something, but hellfire item drops increase with game dificulty and also you need to move in 4 different chapters of the game, when it came out having a H. Amulet was very game impactful hence the grinding and relevance of ingredients.
Today its just another meh item that powercreep just swallowed completely, regardless of my buscuit lol its end game potential is very limited.
What if i say use what ever items you like. Items that make your build fun for you. I prefer HA more than Squirts, a 5th passive is always nice to have imo. Even more so in seson, because Etherial wepons give a passive too, so thats 6 passives in a build, which is pretty awsome. And HR on the follower gives extra exp to the character, because they share their exp gain. So all in all, they are good as they are, no changes needed.
The Hellfire Ring gives 45% extra XP, but that’s reduced to 4.5% at level 70.
The hero gains 20% of the follower’s +XP gains, which means 20% of 4.5% = 0.9%
It’s true Hellfire’s aren’t very relevant anymore. Maybe instead of a random passive, they could grant a random spell rune. That has the potential to be very powerful, but difficult to obtain.
I’d probably throw my Diablo 3 box out of the window due to frustration.
It’s probably very technically challenging. Too much, so.
First time I even heard of this strategy was in season 22 and only used it because I set myself a pretty high (for me) paragon goal and reached high optimisation mode. Real nice and all but needing to do 110 GR’s for one more worth of XP is kind of meh.
I think they should change XP sharing between you and your followers. Not sure of the impact 100% sharing could be if you go full bonus XP but if it were 4,5% from Hellfire that would be good right? Part of making followers more of a bonus that emanate started.
That is actually a good suggestion.
Also, I feel that D3 Hellfire Amulet and Ring should have their own slot. At this point, it is almost impossible for them to rival other accessories in their slot.
At least in D2, those hellfire torch doesn’t replace your character gear, so people don’t really mind having it for their character while in D3, who would want to replace their BiS accessories with Hellfire Amulet and Rings?
That dosen’t change the fact that they share it whit the character.
Indeed it doesn’t. However, other rings on the follower will provide the hero with much more benefit. For example, an Oculus will provide circles of 85% bonus damage and standing in those will definitely get you more than 0.9% more XP due to the fact that you can kill mobs faster and thus clear rifts / GRs quicker, so more of them in the same time.
Yes you are correct. But as a casual player i’m more for haveing fun and f***ing around not worrieing about whats the best in slot. I play how i like to play.
True but they did take up inventory space, and the reason why no one minded it was because that they (along with the annihilus charm) were leagues better than any other charm so using them as opposed to other charm(s) was rarely a bad thing (in fact I’d even say never was).
The Diablo 3 hellfire ring/amulet problems however is that for most builds they are rarely the better alternative choice and instead are actually overshadowed by other jewelry items.
Now if they did get their own slots, then there wouldn’t be an issue with using hellfires jewelries. However, if anything does happen with the Hellfires jewelries, I actually expect them to go the ethereal route with them (random legendary power, class passive, skill damage % increase, always ancient, etc.).
Not to mention that the only drawback is you can’t pick extra items back to town, which hardly an issue for any D2 players.
Nice suggestion but it still needs its own slot or else Ethereal Hellfire Amulets/Rings will dwarf all jewelry.
Im sure a lot can be made with Hellfire jewlery, my whole point is that when it was first introduced they did had a meaningfull impact in the game, thats why the ingredients were also dependant on Torment lvl difficulty of the game + moving through 4 chapters.
Sad to see some content just fade away.
I use hellfire over squirts in every build I play and find it very useful. Why? Cuz I can watch netflix while running over every affix without a care in the world vs looking over and seeing a dead toon.
