hell difficulty seems to easy soon as everyone gets decent gear. 8 player games in 2-3 weeks are pice of cake.I suggest to make new difficulty. This dose not change the game to remake, but will increase endgame challenge last little longer. players need to combine builds to make thro harder difficulty ect…
open for suggestions ideas.
Are you talking single player/SSF or with the aid of trading on the bot inflated economy of the original games closed Battle.net?
Also are you playing 8+ hours a day?
A higher difficulty option will just lead to players demanding more powerful items to make farming said higher difficulty easier.
An additional difficulty mode could be added… It could be called something like… “Inferno Mode”
1 post. Either a dev or clueless.
But I’ll bite.
Nah. Not needed. Even fully geared, you can die easily in hell. Nice try.
Extra fast fanaticized Moon Lords with another might aura pack nearby… A quick death for the unprepared/butterfingered.
These conversations are usually not so simple. Alright you add a new difficulty, do you add a new tier of items, hopefully not but if they do they can’t dwarf anything previously. Loot pools need to be adjusted. What do you find in all i85 or higher places. Do you keep old loot tables but increase drops, how do you balance it so the new difficulty doesn’t remove farming old difficulties for certain loot pools.
It would be almost easier to just allow a self imposed nerf, sacrifice a level for 20 mf or 50 mf up to 10 levels. Certainly will make it harder with no change in pools.
Dunno my main thing is almost every new game has a crappy everything found everywhere and at the same level. D2 was great for mixing and matching low items with high and making it work.
Alright too long already but new difficulty needs to make sense with all the systems.
Edit: not wanting this but to expand, say you hit 90, allow 91-99 levels to be converted when wanted into MF boosts. If your 95 you can nerf yourself 5 levels and add 100mf it more appropriately 250mf or more to be worthitish. If you don’t want it you stop the sacrifice and it returns your level and removed the mf bonus.
They added a new difficulty in D3. People cried because they couldn’t just walk through it. It got nerfed into the ground.
The average player, based on observation from most games I’ve been in that tried it, do not want that kind of difficulty.
You seriously wind up with people too stupid and lazy to equip appropriate resist gear walking into elemental stuff then complaining that the game is unfair.
D3 was punishing amounts of BS also mind you but ya it becomes a what’s the next step game instead of working within the system.
No matter how hard a game gets someone will pipe up saying it’s too easy.
Oh definitely. Inferno was a crazy jump from hell that required coordination most people weren’t prepared for, and the only way to be some parts was playing in a way completely contrary to the class (Act 2 using a weapon throw barbarian for example).
Players seem to have this attitdue of “we failed three times, so it’s too hard.” And I don’t really understand that. But if you make it easier, they complain about that.
Still have ptsd of being obliterated by the wasp at the start of act 2 with his homing shots after slogging weeks to find a 1 Stat increased rare. Then spent the rest of the time flipping some money into my pocket until they fixed it.
Why not both? Lol
Is bait.
unless it’s a “fake” difficulty that wouldn’t have quests but merely make every area lv 85 i don’t think that would work.
More quests would mean more skill points etc…
stronger monsters might mean a new tier of weapons.
and so on.
Also , i’am already fearing people asking for nerf of the hell difficulty as it is (as immunes monsters aren’t a thing in D3) so yea…let’s not make it even more probable.
To be fair, a lot of players have disliked the immune monsters from the start. I don’t mind it though. I always have my merc set up to take care of them if needed or skip.
I think hell is pretty easy. I don’t think anything needs to change in difficulty.
Diablo 3 has proven that adding extra difficulty levels does absolutely nothing positive for the game.
Dear god no. I have nightmares of D3’s failed version of that
One option to increase difficulty is to stop using certain items. Start removing those that give the most bonuses; if you can continue, great, keep deleting until you cannot.
No. Play the game or don’t. Next.
We should take Hell difficulty… and then double it. Where’s Jay when you need him.
In all seriousness though, if you find the game too easy, try hardcore. I agree, soft core LoD is a bit unfulfilling. Hardcore however is the main reason D2 has really retained my interest all these years. It’s like playing a different game. You have to always be paying attention, and it’s incredibly fun and addictive. It truly means something to have a high level, geared hardcore character. Not that many people can actually do it. It requires patience, discipline, knowledge and consistency. D2 has so much to offer and if challenge is what you want, then you should stop playing SC LoD, by far the easiest mode in the game.
Also there’s Classic D2, which is extremely difficult in Hell because the item power creep is much less. Way fewer OP +skill items, and no charms. There are no exceptional or elite uniques, sets, and no elite items whatsoever, or rune words. Item finding is much more interesting because it’s all about the high end rares. If the item hunt in LoD gets boring, Classic makes it very different and interesting. Gems also gain a lot of value again because they are the only things you can use in sockets.
Or if you’re really crazy, Classic Hardcore. Try that and tell me if it’s too easy for you.
The problem is bots. And this is the argument that created “Inferno” in D3. Just drop this idea. Getting rid of public bot runs means everyone won’t be instantly godly geared.
