Completed Season 19 Chapters 1 & 2. Got the in-game mail notice for completing Chapter 2. Opened mail to claim Haedrig’s Gift. Clicked to move it to Inventory. Item disappeared. Not in inventory, not on ground. Inventory wasn’t full. Restarted game. No mail, no gift.
A screenshot of your Season Journey Chapter 2 listed as “Completed” would be helpful.

Just making sure here: You also completed all of the Objectives for Chapter 1?
According to the lower right of the screenshot, OP should have completed both Chapter 1 and 2.
So, the only reason I can think of is that OP pressed the “Trash Bin” button instead.

I indeed completed Chapter 1. I did not press the Trash Bin icon. I feel very confidant in that.
Let’s go down the fantasy path. Let’s pretend I pressed the Trash Bin. Does that give a warning that an Important Item is going to be deleted? If it does not, then perhaps that’s an important upgrade to the game.
Still, that doesn’t help me in the here and now.

If the only response I get is “just go farm the items” my response is a big fat NO. I play infrequently that I need to relearn the game each time I play, and rely on the set gifts from the Seasonal rewards in my play. This game has enough grinding already.
Researching, I see that other folks in other seasons have lost Haedrig’s Gift as well. The only response to them was “go farm for the items”. This doesn’t seem like a one-off problem, but a persistent but erratic glitch.
For the Trash Bin case, it did happened. It does prompt for confirmation but some players didn’t read the message and pressed the yes button. It is real cases, not from fantasy.
If it is a human mistake, find out the actual cause help you to prevent it from happening again.
If it is caused by a bug, then really nothing can be done.
No matter what was the reason, there is no item restoration because the game doesn’t keep any logs. No one knows what item is lost and therefore can’t be restored.
In this game, legendarys drop so easily. Farming isn’t difficult. Especially after they added the LoD gem in recent patch.
Well, I guess I’m dropping this game until the next Season. It’s a shame, and they should fix this.
It’s hard to fix something so rare and intermittent. They need to be able to replicate the problem reliably. Otherwise no one can know if it’s been fixed.
The Gifts have been around for several seasons now. If this was a major issue, the boards would have lit up with complaints. There are very few posts, and some of them are probably due to user error. Unfortunately, sometimes weird things happen, but it shouldn’t stop you from continuing to play. Before the Gifts existed, everyone had to gear up the old-fashioned way. You can still collect 4 pieces from the next two chapters, which will still help a lot.
Even if it’s not a bug, even if it’s user error, it’s crap that it’s so easy to mess up that it’s a bug . I don’t care if most of you 100+ posters think it’s just no big deal. I don’t care if there was a time before Gifts. I play Seasonal BECAUSE of the Gifts. Farming for the replacement pieces is not worthwhile for me. And with problems like this, there’s no way I’m going to pay for Necromancer or any other DLC.
It seems simple enough to regen a CHap II Haedrig’s Gift email, but if the Devs don’t care enough to code themselves the ability to do that, then I don’t care enough to continue to play.
