[Guide] Zodiac Rend (Season 20)

Would be hilarious if you tried a 135 on ptr for fun, and it turns out to be the biggest 4corner transformer + condi + power run, haha.

What is rank one at? I off word for 3 days now I will put some work testing in.

Just tested enchantress int requirements to get the full 10% elemental. My follower gear is 23,068 int for 9.61% additional phys dmg. Looks like 25k is the magic number. No augmenting follower gear is needed. However, you do need a few ancient pieces to get there.

Rank 1 ww - 138
Rank 1 leap - 127

Nice.
I wondered why I wasn’t on the screenshot until I noticed MOTE filter.

Yep, 25k gives you the max.

Haha, yeah, that’s as far as I’m taking it. Pretty hilarious that rank 1 is a measly 127 (1-keyed it, bad maps, no power, no conduit).

Ok just failed 139 rend clear on ptr by 10 seconds on key 4. Battlefeilds/fester and no condi. Tested into the fray with my 6700 para and its not close. I can survive in low mob counts without any elements on the ground but 90% its instant deaths.
As for the build on my fail. Running Enchantress with the element ability and got to 48% physical on sheet. I was able to drop one cdr roll on a weapon and one cdr roll on my shoulders which put me at 34.79. This number was letting wrath come off early in large packs and just about even on single target RGs. So 34-35% cdr is a great number to be at. Im happy. Time to get back to my 7k journey.
Now I need to rethink where perfect rolls need to be for perfect optimization.
Ideally we will roll off CDR on weapons now and keep strength. Triple shoulders/area or damage on rings/ only triple gloves. Now with perfect cdr rolls you will be slightly short 100% wrath on single target RGs. If you opt for a cdr roll on one weapon then you can run rend/area shoulders and probably be right at 100% wrath on single target RGs.

Looking at my gear options I now only need an area/damage band of might and a perfect hellfire then my gear is completely perfect except for secondaries

Thanks for sharing your findings Chris . Very interesting ! Looks like the followers new buffs will be a significant buff in turn for our characters . It seems somewhat promising for us . :+1: :+1:

My guess is on an ideal set of maps we will gain 2-3 lvls. We are getting small element buff plus some attack speed then two extra str rolls . If we can spawn a double pylon fester would make up the rest.

Matched my previous best non-seasonal GR clearance with new Templar - GR129

I see from the thread that Enchantress might now be the favoured follower, but I didn’t have lots of INT-based gear to test with. I guess I can hit up the blacksmith and buy some caches with my Necro and see what I end up with.

Good job on the clear. Correct unless they make changes she will be the optimal way.

This thread is on fire and this follower update seems to be sort of Diablo3’s swan song, but this is a welcome improvement!

So, do I get it right that in an optimal world , we run with the enchantress with FOT and NEM, take advantage of all the CDR of the follower, remove a few CDR rolls (maybe shoulders, weapons, based on gear), decent hell fire, all damage passives + BOBK , and we all go smash the leaderboards? (Sorry guys, I’m hyped by this as soon as it hits production).

So at first we overlooked one thing on the enchantress. You get to choose between 5-10% static elemental damage or 5-10% cdr. You can take the cdr option and remove one additional cdr roll for more str but the 10% elemental will be a bigger bonus then even 1000 str. So optimally the elemental will be better. With just BOBK you can remove two cdr rolls as long as all you other cdr is maxed. 34-35% after the change is bare minimum. During big trash pulls it shouldnt ever be an issue but on single target RGs it can be tight but thats nothing new if you were already running optimal before.

Well, well, well.
Highest solo clear I’ve ever done (seasonal or non-seasonal) with a GR130…

Congrats on the clear !!!

Awesome…

This indeed makes sense. Thanks for clarifying!

I feel like it’s one of those things where if you are doing a semi-casual season and/or only intending to play one class, it’s probably just best to pick the follower that matches your mainstat.

But yeah it definitely looks like, if you have enough int gear, Enchantress is going to be the best option for most builds.

Currently, the only thing season-specific is going to be the Guardian pet / portrait (which isn’t shown on the PTR) so I’m likely to just grab the cosmetics and head straight back to non-seasonal. I’ll be farming some INT gear non-seasonal ready for when this stuff hits live.

I can see this being a little bit of a pain for barbs at the start of season or new players since rerolling 14 pieces of strength gear to int might get expensive. For any other players they just need to spend a few hours farming if they don’t have the gems/mats to reroll. If your like me I save up all my mats for the entire season then wait for the patch to decide if I use them or not. These changes actually make gearing a lot faster for barb since gloves, amulet, and weapons are easier to acquire best rolls.

One things that I have not seen mentioned yet that could be interesting are
builds that have not been able to use FOT like IK Hota will get a bigger boost then other builds.
