I would ask that you transfer your message to the Mac Technical Support forum… there seems to be several players on macOS Catalina 10.15.1 having display issues and your solution might work for some of them too. See this screenshot of the issue posted by @Isaak… I think you would agree it looks “familiar”.
What did you actually uninstall and reinstall ? the game ? the video drivers ?
To transfer your post to the Mac Technical Support forum, simply edit your post (the pencil tool under it) and change the category at the top from “Technical Support” to “Mac Technical Support”… see screenshot below for example:
