Just noticed Rift guardians spawning in the level before after hitting 100% progression in the current map after the patch. it has happened a few times now, so I guess its a bug. Anyone else expreinecing this?
I haven’t this season. I think I saw it once a year or two ago–and in that case it might have been spawning from a stray kill right as I was going through the doorway. I can think of a couple of times this season where I went to a new level with only a percent or two remaining, and for me the boss has spawned where I was.
Shadow clones don’t follow you to the next floor. I think they hang out on the previous one, and can kill stuff and potentially spawn the RG on the previous floor.
If you are seeing this happen more this season, I’m guessing it’s from the shadow clones.
I remember it happening from time to time several (or even many) years ago. Maybe it could be assigned to some form of lag or damage calculations still being carried out on monsters on the previous floor causing them to die, and thereby spawn the guardian, while I had already ported to the next map.
That is probably what is happening. It makes sense.
Today it happened to me too. First time I see that in this game. I was at 88% progression, and got to the next map. Moved and killed a couple of elite packs and the guardian spawned in the previous map. I am certain that there was a clone left in the former map probably still fighting, but there was no way for me to see what it was doing. So TinneOnnMuin is probably right. 12% of missing progression was significant and didn’t felt like a lag or a delayed death.
