GR Empowerment cost per level chart on the Web?

Anyone know of a website that has a GR Empowerment cost per level chart?

The diablo3 gem calculator site does not have a chart with that empowerment costs. The caldesann’s cost calculator on the site does provide a gold cost estimate but based on the gold cost for:

  • 1 ancient item
  • rank 50 gem
  • no deaths and empowered
    … is shown as 84,850,000 gold. However, I believe calculator might assume starting on GR Level 14 when the gem has no ranks, going up 5 GR levels each time to a max level of GR 59, to achieve rank 50 with 100% chance of gem upgrade. When I did a manual check of the costs in game and tallied them up it comes out to 98,160,000 gold.

Below is the empowerment cost per level, in-game, based on the concepts above:

  • GR14 = 980000
  • GR19 = 1980000
  • GR24 = 4000000
  • GR29 = 5500000
  • GR34 = 7100000
  • GR39 = 9100000
  • GR44 = 11600000
  • GR49 = 14800000
  • GR54 = 18900000
  • GR59 = 24200000
    Total = 98,160,000 gold

This would not be efficient in terms of EXP and gear drop opportunities. Most will just run GR75, GR90, GR100, or some other GR level where 100% guaranteed gem upgrade is available while maximizing EXP, gear drops, and kill speed. Personally, since I’m a cheepo, I tend to speed through Empowered GR45 which is super duper safe, relatively cheap, and then when I need to move up I either:

  • go up by 5 GR levels each time, or
  • jump straight to GR 75, 90, or 100

Blasting through GR45 at high speed means I can get a gem to rank 35 (7 runs) before I need to raise the GR level setting. GR45 costs 12,200,000 gold. Blasting through GR 100 at high speed, in a safe build, means I can get a gem all the way to rank 90 without having to change the GR level setting.

If anyone has a site with the chart info. and/or a sophisticated calculator to allow for the above settings to be entered please post a link. For the very tiny subset of folks that don’t know about d3 gem calculator:

I’m not sure this is what you’re looking for, but…

@Strix:
Yes! Thank you.

I have neither checked the accuracy of these charts, nor am I sure this is what you want.

This post lists the cost of Empowered GRifts 1 through 24.

Empowered Greater Rift Costs

This table lists the cost per 5 Levels of EGRs Levels 14 through 139.

I’m surprised with all the players running GR150s that no one has compiled a complete list. I would do it myself, but I only play Solo and the highest I’ve gone is GR111.

The google doc spreadsheet linked by Strix is what I was looking for and more.

Yeah. I just noticed that Column I shows the Empowered cost.

Nice chart, @Strix! (Bookmarked)

What are you trying to achieve. What info from knowing gold cost on empowered rifts is going to help you?

A few pointers to help you. Don’t ever run lower then GR 90 if you can avoid it. 2 minute 90s can be done by every class a few hours into season. Don’t augment with anything less then 100s. Preferably don’t augment with anything less then 125s since you get them for free. I personally only empower when I am level gems 130+ and can get 60% success rate. Gold should never be an issue after the first few weeks of season. The stuff literally rains from every place in this game.

Thanks. I plan on not burning the challenge rift cache at the season 28 start so my gold reserves won’t be as massive at the very start. I tend to empower 100% guaranteed gem ranks until I have to rely on sub 100% rank chance. Knowing the gold cost allows for greater planning. If I’m rolling solo self found it can be easier to actually play the 2nd, 3rd, 4th class to acquire gear versus relying on Kadala, her cousin Blood Shard Geesus, and her brother Cube-Geesus. With knowing the gold costs, I can calculate if I will be able to empower enough GRs on alt chars. I’m ok with burning a rank 50 gem just to finish the season journey quicker if I become impatient. I tend to reserve augments for rank 100+ gems.

I am still confused about your issue with gold. In T16 rifts you can easily farm 100 million gold per run. With sages equipped on follower you gain around 4 keys per run. You can now empower 1 out of 4 GRs if running level 90 which is what I said should be the minimum level. So all you need to do is spend one gaming session only farming keys. Lets say you farm 200 keys from 50 runs. You should have at least 5 billion gold which will let you empower 81 GR 90s. In reality you will get more then 100 million per t16 key run if you are trying to get gold, so you will be able to empower closer to 50% of your level 90 GRs. There is zero reason to have to put this much effort into gold calculations.
