Goblin question

when attacking gem or blood shard gobs do they drop the same amount
of stuff if you just snip away at them or outright kill them

If I understand goblins correctly, they generate with a set amount of treasure and toss some of it away as they run, so killing them instantly gives the same amount as you would get by letting them run around for a while.

Goblins are a mechanic that I like a lot in the game, it gives surprise. I would also like the Rainbow Goblins to be available in classic Rift and not only as a bonus. This would give interest to the flaws precisely.

I would even say that some goblins are not generous enough, for example the gelatinous goblin releases too much death’s breath (while we already find a lot of them with the set) than other compositions.

I get what you mean, but instead of lowering the amount of death breaths dropped from them I would just make them drop in stacks just other crafting mats, same with forgotten souls.

Yes why not too, an idea would also be that pets can also pick up craft/act/breath of death components and gems in the same way as gold. It would relieve my finger a lot.

I think they drop one material / blood shard every now and then. You migth be able to squish out 4+ of each. But they are so easy to come by anyway that it’s not worth it. You would need to be a bit careful with your damage output

This has been suggested for years, so don’t get your hopes…

I messed up and didn’t get my 6 piece set bonus, ran into a green resources goblin. I was barely hurting it, but holy crap it dropped a lot of stuff before eventually escaping.

The blue goblin is the one you need to try not too kill too fast in the beginning. Get him to split, wait a second, split them again, wait a sec, then mow em down. Only once in my time gaming had I killed them too fast and got zilch in the end.

Otherwise, just murder them quickly.

I didn’t have issues for a long time, but with innas if I run into one and I have my allies active, more often than not the allies kill him before I have a chance to avoid it. Exceedingly annoying, but it’s not like it’s worth to play slow just in case you happen to run into a blue.
