Why are the gloves and bracers not socketed? Imo it would be a fair addition to game play, not the boots so much or at least allow the use of ramaladnis gift on them.
What purpose would that serve anyway? All it would add is more main stat and that is acquired through augmenting.
yeah gloves and bracers should have 1 socket at least
Again, for what purpose?
maybe for more all resist
Then augment more INT on the gear.
by your logic we should remove sockets from pants and chest if u can augment everything
Ok so why not? Some players might just want that little extra, even if you augment with gems they may not supply exactly what you are looking for.
My point here is that sockets on gloves and bracers are not needed. They have no purpose. All they would add is more power creep. Sure, in the long run it’s a miniscule amount of power creep but that is still utterly, completely, 1472837659% unnecessary.
You could only expect special legendaries to allow sockets. Also Ice Climbers boots used to have a socket and Tasker and Theo gloves used to have a socket. Bracers never had sockets that I know of.
I have always thought if there is another place that would be a worthy of a socket for any kind of Gem, it would be the belt buckle.
Why not the boots? It is 2019, if I want bedazzle my entire character from head to toe, I should. Add sockets in gloves, shoulders, bracers, and belts and make like 20 of them.
You could just add more toughness on another piece of gear. This is one of the many, horribly broken things about D3. It is MOAR POWER or get the hell out. A well designed game has you make decisions on when to choose defense over offense and vice-versa.
Yea, they’d look cool on some gloves, maybe like Tasker and Theo.
Why would you want a socket on Gloves and Bracers. You do realize that a socket would remove 1 of your primary affixes and gloves/Bracers already have more then 4 highly desirable ones, more then what an all resist or main stat would provide. The last thing is having another affix to roll against which no one wants.
Boots, again, already 4 good affixes that 1 socket won’t beat out. Want all resist- then roll all resist on it which can roll HIGHER then what a gem provides.
Chest and Pant’s don’t really have great alternatives to 2/3 sockets and are mainly already used as toughness pieces.
Shoulders if anything could have an argument for but again 1 socket doesn’t grant more benefit then a primary affix. Shoulders do have more options then Chest/Pants so again the socket would compete against those.
Understand all that you say, but rerolling is up to the rng gods and you may and most of the time do have worse stats than you started with. It is by luck and chance if you get decent stats on a reroll.
I like the idea of socketing Infinity gems on my gloves and snap a finger or two…
But honestly, long time ago, there was a glove and boots that allowed sockets…
because it would look pretty damn cool in my crusader profile with finery, is a small good bonus pretty fair for me
For those that want extra survivability they would use resist all for dex and strength based classes and either strength or dex gems for more armor for intelligence based classes. That is another 156 to resist all for dex and strength based classes and 700 armor for intelligence based classes. That is unless you let gloves and bracers have more than one socket, then you could double those figures.
Unless it was a 5th Primary I wouldn’t want to use Sockets anyways.
As Dragonmaster says, Gloves/Bracers/Boots/Shoulders all have better stat rolls you probably want for DPS anyways.
Gloves you want AD/CDR/Crit/Crit, maybe AS.
Bracers you want Ele/Main/Vita/Crit, maybe LpH.
Boots you want Main/Vita/Skill, and then AllRez/Armor.
Shoulders you want Main/Vita/AD/CDR/Skill in some kind of combination, maybe AllRez.
I wouldn’t replace any of those for 280 main stat or 70 all resistance. So unless the socket(s) become additions, no thanks.
I can accept sockets on gloves and bracers on one condition: they replace an affix, just like on chest, pants and helm. Otherwise sockets add nothing but unnecessary power creep.
There has to be a tradeoff.
