I run Greater Rifts exclusively with some bounties here and there. I find it tedious and a time waster to be forced to run “standard” nephalem rifts to farm for Greater Rift Keystones. I’m at a point where I’ve farmed all legendaries. I have no desire to waste time in nephalem rifts. Keep them around but remove the requirement of keystones to play Greater Rifts. It’s one of the most pointless aspects of this game besides item identification which is another boring time waster and pretty stupid.
I actually like having to farm keystones for greater rifts. It helps keep me even in materials for death breaths and forgotten souls.
Just be glad you don’t need to farm bounties for rift keys, then rifts for GR keys, and then do trials to level up those keys to the desired GR level!
Whole game is like you described
shudders
I still have nightmares about trials.
My internet connection used to be a lot more unstable, and I lost more than a few Hardcore characters to lag in high level trials.
The worst one was when I was grinding out hundreds of trial keys. I had big stacks of GR32-34 and GR40-43 keys in my inventory that I’d already converted, along with a big stack of trial keys I was still working on. Lagged on a high trial wave and lost them all.
I like to think about that oldschool days Was the time when higher grift Keys was something special. You couldnt open Just hundreds of Keys to farm the one grift. If you couldnt do it your key was lost.
I would say no to that it would just remove one good reason to farm normal rifts. I don’t mind doing it that way. We already have enough of a grind doing nothing but GRs for paragon farming. You have to have something there to mix things up a bit instead of just doing absolutely nothing but GRs all day long.
Yeah. I would like to remove greater keys. If bounties weren’t a thing we would spend all the time in a rift. But that’s the only way to really get paragon and lots of drops at once. I hate bounties cuz they only drop 22 of the mats. U can only forge 4 times just from that.
we need more torment levels so there is something else to do for exp rather than grs. I like running nephalem rifts, I like the additional map tile sets, goblins, shrines, loot drops etc.
GRs being the only option for decent paragon leveling is the problem.
If torment levels were increased to that of gr 150 equivalent difficulty and thus for exp gain, then we could have gr keys removed and it would make sense at that time.
No, we need less torment levels. We already have way too many.
i gave a reason why we need more torment levels, you just say we don’t with no reasoning.
The reason I didn’t give any reason to reduce the amount of torment levels is due to the fact it has been stated bazillion times. But fine, here’s a few:
- Anything outside GRs are meant for farming, not challenge. You farm crafting mats, keys, etc. fast and efficiently, not slowly and inefficiently.
- Addition to the point 1, more torment levels means the number of farming builds goes down the drain.
- More torment levels splits playerbase even more.
D3 is already being ridiculed for having 20 difficulty settings. There’s no need to make things worse.
and than all players use goldwarp and got immortality not? use a bit of brain. nearly around p700 u can run like a god in t16, with a non ancient set.
Talking about a time waster in a game that is all about wasting time? You do know what game your talking about right? After all these years Diablo is nothing but a time wasters. Everything that can be done has been done and the story dies away after the first 40 hours of game play. So after the first 40 hours all you are doing is wasting time.
I agree. I run Bounties when I need Bounty Mats for extracting Legendary Powers and crafting. I run Nephalem Rifts for Crafting Mats, especially Death’s Breaths and Forgotten Souls.
But, when I’m ready to collect and level my Legendary Gems, I find it tedious to have to collect Keystones before I’m allowed to run Greater Rifts. At this point, it shouldn’t be necessary and I believe removing them would be a huge QoL improvement.
And yes, I was around “during the Trials”. Yes, I agree the current state is an improvement. I still think there’s room for more improvement.
D3 has turned into a racing game…
- Complete all 5 Acts in Campaign Mode in less than an hour.
- Complete Rifts in 6 minutes.
- Complete Rifts in 5 minutes.
- Complete Rifts in 4 minutes.
- Complete Rifts in 2 minutes.
- Complete Greater Rifts in 15 minutes.
- Complete Cursed Events before the timer expires.
- Complete Set Dungeons in 5 minutes, etc.
…with everything designed to slow us down every step of the way.
- Cooldown on many Skills.
- Cooldown on Town Portal casting.
- Cooldown on leaving the game from a hostile area.
- Clickable objects every time you try to move: Loose Tiles, Corpses, Breakable Objects, etc. (Thank Tyrael for Force Move).
Just sayin’…
runing nephalem rifts for keystones is not fun or engaging game play. as a matter of fact this is the initial reasoning behind why i downloaded a bot program to do rifts for me. simply put not having to deal with the brain dead activity of rifts increased the games entertainment value to me.
Millenials…
I disagree with this premise.
I think that it is nice having a purpose to running regular rifts other than for crafting mats.
If you remove keys, why even have GR or Torment? Just have one mode where we spam GR’s from the login screen then, why collect loot even, lets just have preset builds we push with, see where this chain is leading?
People complain game is boring and then ask for even more simplifications.
Remove rift keys, remove bounties, remove set dungeons…
No. I like running a speedfarm build for keys for a change between GRs.
