What would be nice is to automatically collect any dropped gems, reusable parts, arcane dust, Veiled Crystal, etc. similar to the way gold is collected.

This is asked for at least a couple of times every season and Blizzard keeps coming up with out-dated excuses why they won’t do it ranging from “it would be exploited by bots” to “players need to do something while playing”.
when power leveling do you want a square ruby?
when they made it so you didn’t have to click every mat pile, and clicking one to pick them all up, they stated that they wanted the player to actively play the game instead of automating everything
