Has anyone thought about combining all five types of gems (ruby, topaz, amethyst, diamond, and emerald) into one gem to make a super gem? Then you would be able to get all the attributes at once. For example: putting a super gem into a weapon would give you Ruby +270 DAM, Topez +38,000 Thorn DAM, Amethyst +28,000 LPH, Diamond DAM against elite 20%, Emerald CHD increased 130% all at once.
They are called soul shards and they exist in the current season. Rank 1 of each soulshard contains the powers of every normal gem. Some shards can go into weapons and others into helm, along with the combined powers of all 5 gems they also have other powerful abilities in addition.
I summon the generator of Djank Miems!
Blizzard: Diablo 3 is now in maintenance mode. No new features will be added but we’ll rotate old seasons for you to enjoy and collect cosmetics you may have missed.
Random player: Ooh! Ooh! I have an idea for a new feature! It’s so good a multi trillion dollar company will change their plans because of it!
Actual idea: Rehash of existing content.
I get the feeling the OP wants to put them into chest and pants too for a super bonus.
At that point might as well allow them to make a super augment that gives you XXX of each main stat and vitality.
The idea more or less just adds a small amount of power/toughness creep into the game. Nothing original outside of 1 more thing to click on at the jeweler.
Maybe, however the only example OP gave was putting it into a weapon. Which either means they are trolling, or they really don’t know soulshards exist.
