FYI, PTR now open to try - mostly for Macintosh users and others. I have played it a bit, and it seems stable on my Macintosh

Just as a follow-up, the game seems to play Very well. and. in the explanation about the PTR, Bliz mentioned that the. ptr is mostly for Mac users - and I think they might have hinted at Bliz possibly using Apples’ gaming language ‘Swift’?? can’t. remember what they called it. hey I’m an old fart LOL… anyway, you do receive an ethereal weapon you might have been using - as a gift. but didn’t see any special leg- OK today, my ethereal weapon has dissapeared… that’s ok… I want to tell blizzard - can’t create a new topic in PR feedback - the game seems to be playing very well for me on Macintosh 16" 16gb ram, 1tb ssd. THANKS!!

It’s not using swift. It’s just build on newer version of xcode and compiled as intel and arm.

it’s still using out of date opengl. It seems like it was just a “bare minimum” to move away from relying on an older compiler that was likely becoming increasingly difficult to maintain in their production.

I would not expect to see metal support, or diablo 2 or 4 support in future. This is just a maintenance update, but at least it’ll launch faster (that’s about it)

Thanks for your knowledgeable reply! I was getting a bit excited there. - for a few seconds ! LOL

Is Blizzard going to backpedal this “improvement” and give us our games back?
