got you fam
Lmao feeny going crazy with the nerf gun. I’m dying over here.
Just remember, as of here in this patch and for a long time, those barbs who push to high GR’s are doing it with a huge weight on their backs. Those who looked at seasonal ptr rankings are proclaiming it instead of the non season for a reason…or sheer miss understanding of how the seasonal buff works.
Those who claim the barbs WW is easy have obviously not pushed higher gr’s and had to use such skills as rage flip along with WW and timing the cool downs just right for survival. My barb was pushed to the side after spending all my season on it after I got 2 primal BK swords and 1600 paragon yet couldn’t get passed 102.
My two new builds, LoD blessed and LoD DoD Let me easily go higher. Just cake walked 106 with the WD with crap stats and cleared my 116 on my sader.
D4 just got announced, nobody cares about D3 and its been that way for 4 years. At least HoTa buffs look promising, and really who wants to spend the effort in a greater rift constantly moving your hand around a group of mobs ww’ing… WW was great for pvp and thats that
I’m a long time player, and more of a forum observer. But given the recent events, I’m compelled to reply to this.
I 100% support this post, and believe barbs absolutely need buffs to even up the tables.
I’m a Barb player since D2, always have been. I’ve put in a large amount of hours refining my Barb builds.
My WW is my most invested build, having highly optimised the gear and taking me around 8 months to do this.
The best I’ve been able to push is GR113 at around ~2200 paragon.
Now over this period of time, I witnessed how grossly under powered the Barb is compared to everything else.
When I pushed with the clan or others in a group I was always relegated the zbarb role.
But even if I casually played with some friends in a group, you can’t play barb builds due to how much they hit like a feather when playing with more that 2 players.
Given this, I stopped playing and lost interest. I did not believe any buffs would eventuate. I have little faith in developers these days.
But little did I know, some did and my interest was perked. I recently started playing again to prepare for the new patch to go live.
Only to see these nerfs come after ptr closed. I once again have stopped playing.
I’d like to know Blizzard’s reasons as to why rend was nerfed so much?
Was it because of a very big outlier that had 10k+ paragon clearing a 140?
It’s almost hypocritical to say ‘we’re here you’, and be patient. Put a buff forward, and then retract it.
Given the developers past actions when it comes to patching barbs, I can’t help but think there is some sort of bias against this class.
Why is it okay for a wizard to complete a GR 145, and not nerf the hell out of it?
I honestly have no faith that barbs will ever be given the right level of tweaks to make it competitive with other classes, and given this, does not fill me with confidence with Diablo 4, and at this stage, I won’t be purchasing it.
Please reconsider and retract the Nerf, and re-instate the ptr rend buff.
I want to be able to play barbs on a relatively even playing field with others classes, and be able to get my friends and play this game again!
Well said and thank you far taking the time to and effort to say that!
Actually Rend needed a nerf but I don’t agree with the whole 200% skill damage being removed. They should’ve reduced it to 100% or maybe 50%.
I still think WW is easy. I used rage flip in like 10 of my speed gr’s when I first started using it and it wasn’t that hard to figure out. Isn’t there only 1 survival cooldown?
I feel like like LoD BS was much harder. I pushed 118 with in S17 without stone gauntlets. Timing Provoke, Iron Skin, and Akarats Champion to all go on as one was coming off and chase the elite to make sure he got hit first was definitely harder.
Just switched to stone gauntlets yesterday and lost 2 augments with the change. Came close to closing a 120 gr twice. Was like 30 seconds off both times.
I’m the one who’s been saying it’s easy. When you said “have obv not pushed higher gr’s” I just wanted to throw my 2cents in I guess. Only 1700 paragon btw.
Nerf Bots not Barbs.
There is some irony here that this decision could increase botting, as that would simply be the only way to compete.
I fear you are right.
3 step plan.
bot for a year to get 15k para.
Get rank 1 in every class except barb
all classes get nerfed, barb gets buffed.
hooray.
To each there own! LoD blessed is much easier to me. There’s always “timing” of cool downs with builds, it’s how and when that makes the difference. Blessed, for me, Is a simple walk around grouping. WW, the skill, is easy to me too. It’s the massive fishing and being one shot without certain things being active…my sader with stone gauntlets has yet to get one shot killed without iron skin and ac active.
Mind you, I’ve already stated I am not at 120-140 GR which brings everything up in regards to surviving. I’m comparing MY experience with my ww not making it past 102 yet with a lot better stats and gear versus my blessed and DoD.
Well it’s not going to work if you tell everyone. Lets just try Barbs without the lamentation nerf and see how it works instead, You cool with that Blizzard?
I said what I had on other topics no need to repeat myself.
I have a question… Do we really know that it was not a bug with the Diablo 3 build shown at Blizzcon? I mean… belt is same like before PTR… there is a chance it was a bug only. Not sure why they would do it this way. They could just nerf it to 50% lets say… Going back to the old version of the belt seems weird.
But secretly Roidraged plans to enact his 3 step plan. He will show the world. Barb never forgets.
MUHAHAHAHA
We’re waiting on confirmation just not quietly.
I feel like if it was a bug, they would’ve said something by now. Especially after all these posts.
Please nev pass this thread on to them.
I have been playing barbs the most since D3 launch in 2012 and love the class.
Have been waiting for the day that WW barb would be great and when i tried it on PTR I was in heaven.
Please if you need to nerf the belt just do 100 to 150 or something.
Thank you
I’m currently pushing WW/CC on HC have cleared 115 and currently pushing 117. I can’t let ignore pain or WotB drop or it’s pretty much insta proc. You literally have to pull all/most of the mobs along the entire map all the while maintaining your CDs. The payoffs are huge when you spawn a conduit, but it’s a lot of work.
Honestly, most builds get difficult when you are pushing/fishing, they all have some quirks in what they are fishing for and pretty much everything gets tough at the top end.
The fact that you can pull mobs with WW is a huge plus when fishing cause currently it’s AD/density where you do all your damage and you can really only widdle down elites as you drag them along.
