Friends not showing but are in my game

I have a friend that is in my clan and whenever he logs in he doesn’t show up on my friends list. I has been like this since the start of season 22. is there anything that I can do?

is set his status appear as offline before log in?
In this case he can play as usual but his name won’t appear as online either friend/clan list, however you still can know when he break any GR record that will show on chat. Or press N to see if he has loot item, means he is actually online.

As a test, when he shows up like that, send him some whispers and see if he actually responds or not. If not, it’s likely that he’s set himself to “Show Offline” and it’s his Brother Chris™ that’s playing.

Sometimes players don’t want to be bothered and want to play solo without people constantly inviting to join his game. MY suggestion, if he’s “Show Offline” mode, then DO NOT bother him. Give him his space.

I have the same problem with only 1 friend and can play with him in game and see him before I enter into d3. I am in diablo chat with him at the time and we go through a check list of settings to try and resolve it with no luck

Also when i put his name in the search function he doesn’t appear. In order to play together we need to get a mutual friend to invite both of us.

Ok i have found a solution he is coming up as his real name which i didn’t know and isn’t that apparent as I have too many on my friends list between wow and D3 over the years.
My friend also has an issue his lvl 70 monk got reduced to lvl 1 and lost all his gear. He wont post as he needs an authenticator to post and is too cheesed to bother. I said make another monk and write it off as bad blizzard voodoo lol. He has done this but it still rankles with him.
