Can you STOP being greedy and give us free name change like EVERY other platform? I mean if you don’t see massive amount of people quitting your disgusting sick platform, maybe it’s time for it to die.

That would be the worst thing to ever happen to this game. There shouldn’t even be paid name changes.
Also, this guys name says Rainbow Dash, for those who don’t speak many languages like i do.
Are we talking Battletag? I haven’t even used the free one, why would you need to change that?
Hell, I still use the same name on steam as I did when I made that account in 2003.
Edit/ I actually made it in 2004, January first.

Wow! Sick and Die on the same sentence over a name change? Glad you like everything else in the game or I would hate to think what you would write if anything else in the game was not to your satisfactory. Hope you feel belter after your first cup of coffee.

There is a free Battletag name change. Everyone gets one. Once that free one is used there is a cost to change it.

I’m guessing he means a char name change feature. Would be nice, but how easy is it to make changes to the underlying database structure after the fact?

Yep. D3 characters are paper dolls that mean nothing. It takes a few mins to get a bump to 70. Paragon is account wide, stat points are free to re-allocate, specs are not unique, and the gear can go in storage and just be put on the new paper doll.
Honestly, that is one of the things I don’t like about D3. The characters have little to no permanence or development of their own. It is an ARPG without the RPG part.

Yes, but you can’t transfer the toons hours played.
That’s true, but you still see the total for the class. (And does anyone really care about how many hours of your life you’ve spent killing demons?)
Oh, and the OP plays exclusively HC. Expecting longevity there seems misplaced.

True. Main downside is remembering and recreating your char’s Armuory loadouts. At least for me it is. Still waiting on a >= 50% discount sale on Rise of the Necromancer.
I still haven’t even tried that feature.
It definitely can be a time saver. At least for me. Updating the loadouts in the Armory when you get a better item I find more convenient than manually swapping full sets of items repeatedly. I suppose toons can serve a similar function (just changing chars), but I currently have limited stash space and char slots.
Being able to rename a character would be OK. I mean, yeah, no big deal to make a new one but then you might have to do some of the boring garbage again because the game forgot you’ve beaten the campaign before. Rename could be part of rebirth.
