Forum update thoughts

What do people think of the forum update?

Nothing significal

Looks jank on Firefox. :joy:

The topic overview on mobile is faulty.
No padding and long titles break the container.

Yeah, the mobile version looks terrible. Among other issues, text that goes off the right side creates a horizontal scroll.

Screenshot from my phone

Edit: “Error” from my part

Edit2: I finally got back to TL3, or the level was lowered, but hey, that’s another discussion.

Edit3: finally…

Well, flagging sure has a lot more options now…

I think I can get used to it. Didn’t check the site on my phone yet.

What an eyesore.

The option “It’s Off-Topic”, is a good thing, I think.
Maybe fewer threads that start with question A, and end with answer Z.
Who knows…

A little hard…
The screenshot comes from an iPhone and Safari, which is what I use every day.
Don’t have another browser or Android phone to test

When I look at replies there is this weird line that runs from the reply button down through the replies. It is very annoying imo.

Hey Derfman,

Are you able to get a screenshot? I can forward it to Bliz.

If so, is it on desktop, or mobile? Which browser are you using?

The frames are off a smidgen in the mobile version but its not broken like the d4 forum update. Clicking reply opens up a comment window bigger than the browser lol

I have not realized anything attractive in these changes.

Checked my Android phone. It is similar to what Perusoe posted. I think it’s neat but I liked the old look better.

Firefox 130.0.1, Windows 11, this is how it’s rendering the TOP posts on the homepage for me:

Well, after forum update it is not putting me at last read post in a thread anymore (the line with “last visit” is still there).

EDIT:
OK, it works for some posts, but for most not.

Oh yes, I noticed that but didn’t click it might have been the update until you mentioned it. Bah humbug!

Same here with Edge, looks like a few extra line breaks, not pretty.
I guess the same with Chrome, given it’s the same engine.
Heroes has no top-ics but Overwatch looks the same. WoW is not affected due to categories taking up all of the home page.

I think the issue is that b-topic-line is missing display: flex.
Or rather, b-topic-line is missing from styles entirely.
Since the two child elements are both display: flex but also have flex-growth, I suspect this is how it was done. Without the class style, it defaults to div which happens to be display: block, hence each in its own line.

(I can’t attach photos but if you add styles, each topic becomes two lines, with text on left and count/time on the right.)
