I personaly feel that now that Followers can be fully equiped that it is time they get follower specific sets. Assuming we see them I feel would also be a way to have 1-2 of the relics as part of the Set Bonus.
The only Relic i feel shold stay as a relic only ability is the one tht makes them immortal. Plus the Set bonusses for the FOllower sets would be good way to have the Sage and Cain’s perks with out needing to craft them and useing up slots.
Another reason to have Follower sets is since each follower requires different stats there sets could drop with the stats that specific follower requires and we wont need to have a toon that uses the same stat as the follower just to make sure the gear will have the same stats for the follower.

I would have loved if they expand on emenating items atleast. I hope they are going to work more whit the followers in the future, items wise. Follower only sets, more items to emenate or just boost their abilities, more stats working on them.

IF they did add Follower sets they wouldnt need to add new Eminate abilities for the set bonusses. they could just use the current ones to use as the set bonusses. Maybe even have a Follower set bonus that causes our followers to pick up all of the mats that drop for us LOL.

There were many many sugsetions about followers and items in the s23 ptr forum. One of them was the amaount of mats drop, and reduceing the number of bounty missions per act to obtain horadric chests.
I think if they added a 5th slot to the Party group would help out completeing the Bounty Runs, since then each act would get a person to complete them.
They pretty much have specific sets - the double Death’s Breath and Key drops.

those are general sets there not specific sets like one just for the Sorcer or just for crusader
Sets would have to be pretty damned mighty to give up emanation effects. Won’t happen.

Isn’t that follower sets will go against the theme of emanation or rather the purpose of making the underused legendary items useful for the player?

The follower sets would have Emanations, the sets would just be for specific to the Followers.

There were some players who wanted to give followers decent damage, like D2 hirelings. But whit the Asheera set groups would’ve got a bigger advantage. Now to counter that, Asheera could be a follower only set, that emenates.

While I like the idea, I would rather have them work on existing sets/builds and bring them closer to each other. It does not seem like they have much to give for this game anymore.
Not complaining, I got countless of hours in this one.
But would have loved to see bounty runs for solo players being viable
if its in maintence mode the how come we got the new Follower system?

Probably designed several years back and they finally flipped the switch to enable it.
No. We have enough blackthornes and other BS when upgrading Rares! Less crap in the loot pool the better

@Indian: Maybe not emanate Asheara’s, but perhaps perm all 3 followers for equipping the set on your character (4-piece bonus) in single player, and perm your HIRED follower only in multiplayer. *Make Unity a “heroes only” ring (can’t be worn by followers)–otherwise, it would be too overpowered in multiplayer.
*What about “follower-only” sets that change the damage types of their special skill attacks? Say your Enchantress gets a set that turns her damage to cold (maybe use Frostburn’s and Band of the Hollow Whispers?) Magefist and Cindercoat for a fire-damage set? It could be cool if there was a way to alter the “elements” they attack with and equip items that work with their new damage type. *Note: I’m only talking about the damage type their attacks/special attacks do, not the damage types done by procs from items.

Hopefully never. Also we have a few pieces of Sets working on Followers already. Blackthorne, Cain’s, Sage’s Sets work for all and Captain Crimson pieces work only for Templar.
I don’t think we need any more power creep, if you need your Follower to utilize different, then work around Asheara’s Set and experiment on some possible legendary items you can give them. If you ain’t gonna use Asheara to sacrifice from your own power then forget it. Developers ain’t gonna give you power without any drawback.
So, I see nothing wrong with having weaker legendary items or sets, but don’t make them completely obsoleted NO MATTER WHAT. Blackthornes will never be useful. It might have SOME use to a follower, but it’s very very hard to get them to survive at all. Apparently the enforcer gem works on them, but that requires a build that uses the gem. What they need to do is allow that gem to work if THEY are using it, just remove the damage if they are wearing it. That way, they can survive to some degree.
There are SO many sets that are 100% useless. I’d argue they had some use, but legendary items rain from the sky and they give you an effectively free set in the first few hours that is generally GG, if not GG, it’s GOD LIKE compared to these useless sets. Having something that is niche or simply weaker is perfectly fine, but there’s no excuse to have something that has effectively no use for any class, player or even follower.
EDIT: Born’s is super weak, but it has a use to zdps and leveling. Cains is weak, but it has a use to zdps, followers and leveling. Crimsons/Aughilds are super good, but they are niche. I think Asheara’s has some niche uses? Sages is super weak but it’s super useful now for our followers, it used to be SEMI useful to us. Most people like myself wouldn’t use it before the followers though. Blackthorns, Demon’s Hide, Demon’s Skin, Guardian’s Contingency, Guardian’s Jeopardy, Hallowed Defenders, Hallowed Protectors etc etc. They are 100% unused and pointless.

I haven’t laughed like that for a very long time.
