Since Followers can be equipped with every gear type I feel they should get Follower specific Set’s. These Follower only sets would also be a reaso to remove the Scoundral Token, Enchantress Focus and the Templar Relic. 1 Follower set could be something like Head, Shoulder’s, Chest, Waist, Legs and Feet. For the Sorceress and Scoundrel add a Weapon to there set for the Temper give him a WEapon and Shield set. Having sets could allow 1 Follower Best for doing bounties with, another Follower best for Rifts and maybe G.Rifts While the third good for Farming for Mats, or Ancients…
Good idea but we have Follower based Sets already. Captain Crimson’s is a great side Set but its 2-piece bonus also benefits Templar’s Heal. Guardian’s is another great side Set and it’s usually given to Followers for reaching 25k main stat much easier. Additionally we have Sage’s for farming Death’s Breathes and Cain’s for IaS% benefit and Greater Rift key farming.
I always had this idea of making their weapon slot, or jewelry slot emanate to the player by the help of a special token. So perhaps a Follower oriented Set with special token allowing you to emanate a specific slot ain’t a bad idea in my opinion. Is it direly needed? I wouldn’t know about that.
You can do that right now without relying on additional Sets to be made or anything else. Each class can have a best Follower type for pushing GRs, speedfarming GRs or farming.
If you adorned your Follower with Sage’s and Cain’s then tag them along for farming, if you equipped them Guardian’s then bring them along in speedfarming or pushing.
You can equip your Enchantress or Scoundrel with Cain’s and Guardian’s for pushing or farming with Sage’s depending on the active bonuses. You can keep a Templar in Sage’s for farming or give him Guardian’s and Captain Crimson’s for pushing. It’s all about your purpose to bring them along.
All it matters is knowing what you need when pushing and what you lack in a general sense. When your build is passive cooldown reliant, but slow at collateral damage then bring Enchantress at pushing GRs. In case you are fragile but need to wind up or get pinned to commit attacking, then you’d want Templar to keep you safe at GR pushes. If your initiate is weak at range but have mass crowd control then you’d want Scoundrel to burst down rapidly while pushing rifts. You pick one, then rest will be your speedfarm or bounty and rift key farming Follower.
I know theres multiple sets when combined can do what I ask suggesting; I just feel having a single set would be better since in theory could use less pieces of gear to get the same affect especially with RORG.
So… You want existing bonuses to be crammed into a new Follower oriented Set? I don’t follow… Current system give flexibility for Followers while restricting them at few slots. I get the impression that you’d want to make RoRG somewhat mandatory just like the Oculus Ring on Followers.
I don’t understand exactly what your request is…
I have a character (my main) that has:
- 1 follower (Scoundrel) for bounties, rifts, farming…
- 1 follower (Templar) for GR*
- 1 follower (Enchantress) for GR*
* I have two builds that require having two different followers
Yea I always seem to have an issues at times to properly articualting my Idea’s. Frustrating as anything to me, alot of times I hope theres someone that seems to understand.
Seems a moot request. D3 is EOL, at least as far as new content. But, it is also a topic that has been broached before (many times). It is a good idea, but just too late.
Why? I see most people asking for more build diversity in the game, with less dependency on sets. Here you are trying to ram a uniform set down our throats when 99% of the players are satisfied with the build diversity available for followers.
It’s too late…
Honestly, the current situation with the followers looks fine, imo. They help a lot, all their items work etc.
The “non-immortal” tokens are also perfectly work with Enforcer equipped on your character. I’ve tested many times on EU how it works without Enforcer - unfortunately, any follower may die in highest grifts despite being fully and properly geared/augmented. My Enchantress had ~2,5kkk toughness, but it’s still not enough to endure gr 150.
im not trying to ram anything and it wouldnt be just ONE set. There would need to be multiple sets that would be BIS for doing Bounties, another for rifts and a third for Grifts to allow them to survive higher Grifts.
IF we were farming Keys for Grifts getting an extra key each run for some can feel a bit slow. A set that maybe allows 4-5 per run would allow them to farm up the keys quicker. Plus these sets would most likely need to be a Drop not Crafted this way useing the older sets would still be used until they go the set for the Followers.
I feel minimally there would be 4 sets, 1 for farming DEath Breath’s and 1 for farming Grift Keys and 3rd for farming Grifts and Bounties. The way i see it currently 1 ‘Issue’ with being able to Craft the DB and Grift Key sets is you would need to craft it on a Soon that shares the stat with the Follower, so if you were on a Barb you cant exaclty craft those sets for the Enchantress. Where as making Follower specific sets they would come with the Stats for those folowers and not need to worry bout Charector jumping just to make sure you craft the gear with the Proper stats for the Follower.
each of the sets would come with 3 Bonuses
Set 1 could be set up where
Bonus 1 Increased DB
Bonus 2 Gain access to all skills
Bonus 3 Reduce the CD of all follower SKills
Set 2
Bonus 1 INcrease the Chance for a Second Key to drop
Bonus 2 Gain access to all skills
Bonus 3 Reduce the CD of all follower SKills
Set 3
Bonus 1 Gain access to all skills
Bonus 2 Reduce the CD of all follower SKills
Bonus 3 Follower can not Die
Set 4
Bonus 1 Double the amount of Mats and Gems from Bounty Caches
Bonus 2 Gain access to all skills
Bonus 3 Reduce the CD of all follower SKills
Set 3 I feel would help a Follower IF the stats were right help them in the Higher Grift runs. Set 4 I feel would get very little use after a person has been playing a while and no longer needs the Mats and Gems.
I Feel Set 2 would get alot more use out of it then any of the others. For these sets the main reason to use RORG with them is if the set had Hands or wrists and want to use the Nemesis Bracers or Gloves of Worship. Only way i could see to get the 6 set and not use RORG is if the set was for Head, Should, Chest, Waist, Legs and Feet, which would work if the set was more for doing Rifts and Grifts.
The Set Bonuses that deal with Follower skills could even be swapped where Gain access to all skills would come after the CD Reduction Bonus.
You do those at the same time though, so I would for sure just go with the first bonus from Set 1 and 2 while farming rifts, just as I use both Cains and Sage’s now.
It’s a good buff to the people that do them solo, it’s still severely less efficient than to just do it in a public group though so I don’t see myself using it.
Stats are fairly irrelevant, the bonus from all the relics would pretty much outweigh anything else.
