Finally did it...............adios

I never thought it’d come this way but finally uninstalled the game. Played thousands of hours all these years and yeah, it was fun. Had builds (worked hard and played hard to get the builds optimal) come and go (nerfs). The recent Chantodo nerf finally did it for me. Something about taking away a good build just doesn’t seem fun anymore. It doesn’t matter the reasoning.

Looking at the game icon on my computer brings that uphill climb and redundant feeling. This feeling is the result of working hard to get a good build then they take it away. There were so many fun builds back then that were taken away.

Now with D4, and looking back on how they treated D3 (have played since D1), I’ll pass. Good try on ROS in trying to bring fun back, it worked for awhile.

Time to start looking at my steam games (92 games) which I ignored the last 7 years because of D3. LOL.

Anyways, a voice like mine is unimportant to big business like this but I know there are others out there share the same sentiment as mine about this game.

Flame away.

Bye Bye. See ya in a while.

Maybe the problem is you then, cause chantodo could easily clear 120-125s before. Not that there is anything wrong about being a beginner.

Besides Bossdogg, anyone who finds it necessary to announce to the community they are quitting (for any reason) is a bit of a drama queen. Then to say flame away, well gee wonder what will happen next.
I’ve been a Barb as a main since day one, I still play, mostly other classes.
If I quit no one but me will know or for that matter care.

When you need to post on the forum to say your uninstalling, its borderline mental illness.

happynikon did not say anything about pushing Greater Rifts or Leaderboards.

They simply said they once enjoyed playing a particular Wizard build and now they don’t.

Personally, I didn’t need to read about it here. But, they’re entitled to their opinion. If I was no longer having fun playing a game, I’d quit and find something else to do too.

@happynikon

May you find your peace. Good luck on your future endeavors. :v:

the nice thing about d3, there’s no sub or paying after paying for RoS. you got thousands of hours of entertainment for $60. Worth it. Take a break, maybe in a few seasons you’ll get the urge to reinstall. I personally uninstalled around season 10(I burnt out after a few seasons of twister wizard meta) and came back in season 17… that break really helped refresh the game for me and the meta was quite different when i came back.

The same could have been said about the Necro class at release of the DLC. There were requests for the Wiz community for the Chantodo set to be revived in response to Reverse Archon. Many consider Archon to be the ultimate ability for Wizards much like WotB for Barbs. The Chantodo set has languished for years as an auto-salvage garbage set until it was revised. Did the devs potentially overtune it upon the revisal? Maybe yes and maybe no. However, I think their revision of the set was a success because they were able to:

  • improve the set and make it useful
  • not nerf, destroy, or remove Reverse Archon
  • having Chantodo/Vyr Archon (pure Archon) and Reverse Archon allows for great diversity.

The introduction of the revised Messerschmidt’s Reaver and Echoing Fury weapons gave more opportunity for CDR and more attack speed. This coupled with an already strong Vyr/Archon and an already strong revised Chantodo set, could be considered way too much. The devs sought to nerf the Chantodo set (and the Bazooka mechanics), in response to the complaints in the forums, instead of taking the time to do a proper rebalancing of the classes. I’m not saying people shouldn’t complain about serious imbalance. I do, however, take issue when their only complaint is:

  • class X is on top and a critical part of the meta
  • the class I like/prefer isn’t on top and isn’t apart of the meta
  • Wahh… nerf class X

The above is the absolute backward, childish, selfish, trollish, and flawed approach to getting balance. While I don’t have an issue with you wanting balance, Meteor, your choice of words, which you confirmed in your reply is toxic and an overuse of the phrase. Imbalance created by the devs is not privilege. Its imbalance. This is why I said you chose to over use a phrase when you could have made a better analogy (and not in a childish/trollish “shots fire” toxic manner). If dev created imbalance confers privilege, then by extension, any exploit that is allowed to persist for any period of time confers privilege because it creates imbalance.

How many seasons has Rat-Runs been in the game as a speed meta option, if not “the” speed meta option? Where is all the crying, b***hing, and moaning from Barbs, Demon Hunters, Witch Doctors? Not a damn peep coming from those camps. Its because Necro’s were the new shiny object and damn near everyone was having fun. I took issue at around 3rd season where Necro was the push and the speed meta. However, I didn’t push 54 nerf Necro threads per day in the forums. Right now Saders are pushing GR148 on the leaderboards, while everyone else is sitting at 135. Are we to start complaining about Saders now? Are we to start begging for nerfs to Saders and their sets?

If complaining about the OP announcing that they are departing from the game is bad then any posts about happiness and enjoyment probably should be in the the forums either. This means no one can like and enjoy or dislike and depart in a public manner. Those who claim to not care, obviously care enough to post. What are you so upset about? Are you scared that the OP’s post will trigger a mass public exodus?

So you uninstalled the game but didn’t uninstall the forums. I call shenanigans.

Bazooka was broken from the very start. I hope they will remove it completely.

You’re burned out. You are not experiencing anything special and you will most definitely try D4. How do I know? Well if you managed to spend thousands of hours on this game then trying D4 will be the least you’ll do.

“Working hard” to get a good build? Like really? There’s no such thing as working hard in RoS. There are only arbitrary timesinks.

edit. build is still strong btw.

Wizard has been the top damage dealer for 3 consecutive years, since 2017.

Also, in this upcoming patch it’s STILL the top damage dealer (StarPact), it’s just Vyrs that got whacked.

:joy:

You’re all slating this guy for quitting over a nerf to his powerful class but honestly why spite eachother for this? Blizzard are the ones who seem to think taking bones away from hungry dogs is a good way of doing things. You’re super powerful!! Enjoying it guyS??? Too bad * takes it away *. While we all squabbling over like 5 top tier builds there are still tons of builds and sets that are totally useless like the akarat set that gives a grand total of 1500% bonus damage when other sets give 75000% 20000%. They should really be trying to make all the builds viable than just have us squabbling over these small number of pigeon hole builds. I don’t know why they don’t just do it. Maybe cos if the game worked and all the sets were near enough equal we wouldnt have any reason to log on for new seasons hahhaha. Blizzard drip feeding us. I’d like to see a Phalanx build actually work for a change for example. The bonuses for phalanx add up to about 200% total, compared to the others thats pathetic

It might just be my opinion, but Chantodo should never have been made to give that much power to vyr and archon, as consequence the damage of all of the archon abilities themselves greatly pales in comparison to Chantodo’s waves of destruction.
