Fetering Pit Legendaries LOST!

I cannot tell you how frustrated this made me. I was sitting there open mouthed and incredulous for some time…

So I found an odd portal I had not seen before and went into it. I believe that it was called the “Festering Pit”. I killed a number of mobs and found my way onto a large platform where I was assaulted by multiple boss creatures at once. It seemed to be an elevator as it was moving and going down periodically.

I was fighting for my life as it was quite difficult. I couldn’t move and was attacked on all sides. Long story short, I finally was able to kill them but if it don’t beat all…my inventory was FULL! Worse, I saw a legendary sword and a number of legendary mats (maybe more). I hurried and tried to clear out some space in my inventory and just as I did , BAM!!!

I was back in town…I didn’t have time to pick up my drops. The elevator crashed to the ground or something and ported me out. I was LIVID! My mouth hit the floor, “YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!”

WHAT THE HELL!!!

At least give me a chance to pick up my loot! That loot could have really helped me. My character is my first seasonal one and its only about level 50. Now I had all that loot taken from me and no way to get it.

Would you PLEASE implement the same system that is in Diablo 4 where legendary’s missed are deposited into your stash to pick up later? PLEASE?

Actually, I’m not sure what you are referring to, now that I read it again. Thought it was the Pit in D4…

My assumption, if you haven’t played seasons in over a year, or perhaps ever, is that you entered a Visions portal.

On the one hand, I do think you have a legitimate complaint insomuch as in D4, if you leave any drops on the ground that are legendary or higher quality, the game automatically sends them to a special tab in your stash that only appears and is interacted with, specifically in cases like this. It’s a “hey, you left this on the ground” type of holding area. You only get ONE tab, and when it’s full, then you’re SOL. But at least, you have that small safety net, and it alerts you via a big “!” on your maps to go visit your stash and get your forgotten stuff.

In D3, we really don’t have that feature in that way. Your seasonal stuff gets “mailed” to you when it gets xferred to nonseason, but other than that, if you don’t pick something up? It’s GONE. End of story. Do not pass Go, do not collect your forgotten Legendaries. Complete and total SOL.

So yea, I get that complaint. They could give SOME sort of grace period or some such. Fair critique there.

But on the other hand?

You really could have done your research. I have little sympathy for ignorance. I know it sounds harsh, but we never learn to pick ourselves up and deal with the pains of life, if we never fall and scrape our knees. I don’t personally like how you went straight from “what the hell happened” to “IT’S SOMEONE ELSE’S FAULT BUT MINE” like a light switch.

Do some research, and you’ll save yourself some headaches in the future. Not trying to be mean or rude, just stating a harsh truth. It’s no less true for being harsh.

OP, are you playing D3 or D4? If it’s D3 and you went into Vision portal, you could easily go back in and pick up your loot unless you killed the goblin and opened the chest. If it’s D4, you don’t get any loot in a pit until you finish. Not sure what you are describing.

The portal you were is called a Vision. they have between 1 and 15 floors. On the last floor is a goblin. When you kill him, a chest spawns. If you open that chest a timer starts. When the timer ends, you are returned to town. Do not open the chest until you have looted what you want in the Vision.

As for being useful, you are level 50. Pretty much anything you find will be obsolete by the time you are level 55. The difference from level 50 to 70 on seasons is about 30 minutes time or less. Once you hit level 70 and are doing T16, it will rain legendaries from the sky. Don’t worry, you lost a tiny fraction of what you will find on T16 at level 70.

Take this as a lesson, don’t click on the chest in the Visions until you are ready to click on the chest.

Yeah, it was a vision portal, and they were probably in the smallest one, on that platform that appears to move (from Act V).

Small area, had 3 bosses spawn to kill, and a goblin, then opened the chest and had 30 seconds to clear it.

Well you had a 30 second countdown on the screen. And now you learned to not click the chest until you’ve checked that you have space in inventory.

Anyway, missing out on some drops at lvl 50 is a very minor setback. Really doesn’t slow you down much. You easily lost 10 times as much time typing out this OP than you did from the missed drops.

I am in D3. You are correct, I guess it is called a Vision portal. I must of looted the chest and not realized a timer started. As I stated I was looking in my inventory, so I had my bag up. I did not see a timer.

Ultimately, I accepted my fault here, my main point is to ask that a MAILING SYSTEM be added to D3 just as is in D4 where if you fail to pick up a legendary it will be waiting in a tab in your stash. That one small feature ported to D3 would make a HUGE difference.

They aren’t going to do that level of codework for this game. And with how much loot can be obtained in visions, there literally is no point in it.

Going on 13 years at this point, I don’t see them changing that anytime in the future either.

Shame. I like the feature.

To be honest, I even find it annoying in Diablo IV. Especially since they cranked the loot drop to 11 this season…

I’m starting to toss legendaries out as I find them, as I only want ones with stars on them now. lol

I only see it being an issue if you play for hours upon hours upon hours… I been playing for 2 years or since D4 was released and i only had 1 item which i didn’t pick up appear in my stash.

I still haven’t done everything either.

The only steaming pile is still getting normal legendaries past T1 and the fact you can’t put aspects on what you want or modify uniques at all apart from masterworking. Also the fact that not all skills are viable past T2.

I don’t play that long…

If you run the seasonal witches stuff, you are rained with loot. I have filled that catch tab multiple times just with a single 30 min run because legendaries fall all over the map, without you even knowing they are there.

Yea… i don’t want that. Seasons are childs play (If it was not an adult game obviously). Also what’s the point (to me) if i can’t use it in NS (the powers or sigils, etc). Why even are there seperate realms… never made sense to me.

Loot system in D4 this season is ridiculous. You have to teleport to town every 10 minutes to empty your stash. And by empty, I mean salvage. At least in D3, you can actually use the mats. In D4, I salvage mine for gold since mats in D4 are so plentiful.

There are lots of little qol things like this that most modern arpg have that would improve diablo 3. Unfortunately the game is many years past the point of adding in more features, so we’ll have to accept the game as it is, including the outdated parts. We can make wish lists, and discuss hypothetically, but nothing is going to happen.

Maybe they’ll add some things like this in when they make a D3 resurrected in 5 years. :stuck_out_tongue:

In your case, I get that it feels bad missing out on loot and getting booted out of an area unexpectedly, but in practice it won’t hold you back more than a minute or two from your progression. There are much worse things that can happen to you.

Yeah it’s ridiculous!! :rage:

Goes back run visions and fill up inventory on a single floor in 20 seconds

True, but at least in D3 you can use the mats you get from salvaging. In D4, mats are worthless. Mats are too plentiful from all the other events, including whispers. Everytine you open a whispers cache, mats rain down on you.

Never the right ones le sigh pretty please… i’d say pretty tree but that’s just wrong!

I mean… D3 doesn’t exactly need it.
For one reason: you will 100% see those same legendaries at least a dozen times within an hour of play if you manage to solo t16, which again, with how drop-heavy this game is, won’t take long.
Losing loot, unless it was a primal, really doesn’t mean much in the long run with D3. It just means one more added run really.
