The Nintendo Switch joycon/pro controller/any gamepad buttons are different than the Xbox gamepad, and assuming the Playstation gamepad also. The positions of the ABXY buttons are not the same and yet the exact same button is required for the same functions in the game.
It actually hurts my hands sometimes, like when trying to use the archon form on my wizard and trying to press/hold the ground pound point blank AoE skill while holding the other PBAoE explosion skill directly across the gamepad.
I have been able to work around this for the normal skills mostly because of “elective mode” and putting skills where they are comfortable. but archon form change skills cant be moved. This needs to be fixed to allow them to be moved, at the bare minimum.
This also causes problems with accidentally salvaging or equipping or other actions in the menus because of the different button plcements also.
Can we please just get, at the very least, the buttons on the Nintendo Switch version remapped to be the same positions as the Xbox controller, which is also usable on PC for MANY games with the same standard layout? (I.E. the A button activates/accepts/clicks things in the southern button position of the 4 gamepad buttons, arranged north/east/south/west like a compass.)
That is just much easier and considered “normal” gamepad layout these days. Even the Playstation controllers “activate/click” with the southern button on their gamepad, same with Logitech brand controllers.
This is the single most important quality of life ask for the Nintendo Switch. It’s literally debilitating to use archon form on a wizard as is without this change.
This is not friendly to gamers with disabilities even though this game would otherwise be very friendly with it’s forgiving difficulty options and fun gameplay with little necessary investment.
