Fear what we will get in D4

Played Immortal for 2 hours, and yep I already have enough.

Too many other players.
Mob respawn out of nowhere
Other players fight invisible enemies because of shared world.
and all the shop things.

And we will get all this stuff in D4 too. Believe me.

It fells absolutely like Lost Ark and not Diablo.
I absolutely don’t pre order or buy Diablo 4 at release, because of all the things we will get in D4.
(Yes lie to yourself and say we don’t get all this.) But we will get all this in D4 too.

D4 will be different, since it’s not based on a mobile game. You cannot predict the future.
Judge D4, when you have something more substational.

i don’t have a problem with any of the things you listed except players fighting invisible enemies. that sounds like a bug/server issue.

D4 will not have this many MMO elements. You’ll rarely see other players. And MTX will only contain cosmetics. This is a Mobile game first. D4 is going to be ARPG first and foremost, also pay to play, not free to play. So instead of cutting your wrists because of a Mobile game, wait until D4 actually comes out.

What part of MMO did you not understand?

Instant turn off. I wish they’d keep the Diablo franchise as far away from mmo’s as possible.

Diablo Immortal is a mmo game, as such it will have plenty of mmo features, such as seeing plenty of players inside and/or outside of town.

Diablo 4 will be an arpg with some mmo features, but not so many that the game delve into mmo territory. One such example is that with the exception of pvp zones, towns, and/or World Bosses/events, players should rarely come across other players while exploring the world in Diablo 4.

So OP, I get your concerns, however if you been following Diablo 4’s development, you’d know that most of the things that you listed, the developers had already stated wouldn’t happen. And in the event of that changing, we’d know about it.

Not all, but they will push as far as they can for “non-mmo” - otherwise how to sell cosmetics and the stuff. I think D4 start will be good, but eventually the game will be flooded with all kind of stupid circus-like mtxs like wings, pets, super-mega-epic armors, weps, special colorful effects on everything, etc… (just like it is now in POE). And yes, even you play solo, you’ll meet all those clowns in every single town appearing from nowhere and disappearing into nowhere.

It appears that some of the new people who are jumping on the forum venting have no idea what is going on.

I’ve given up hope on ever getting another Diablo 2 from Blizzard, but I do like aspects of Lost Ark. I think they are taking positive aspects from it.

I just pray to God there is no pay to compete in D4. I pretty much expected though. Blizzard is turning into one of those companies.

If Blizzard wants to make extra money off of a Diablo 2 style game, all they have to do is create their own currency like jsp has forum gold, and sell it. That way they control the market on item selling which will exist whether they do it or not. So there’s no actual change to gameplay, but more profits for Blizzard. It will also make trading very dynamic and interesting. The main draw of Diablo 2 is jsp. Like it or not. It’s been very successful.

No.

I will judge an unreleased game based on a completely different game. That’s how it works.

If we are lucky, the existence of D:I will ensure that Diablo 4 takes another path, to target a different market segment.
If we are lucky…
I wouldnt count on it though, but there is always room for naive hope!

I really dont understand the design of “you must click a thousand UI buttons for all kinds of stuff” and constant blinking UI elements trying to get players attentions “click me for another small reward!”

This is what I’m hoping they decided on from a business point of view. That they have the ultra-pay to win whale net out there for Diablo. And that can defecto fund Diablo 4 – which perhaps can be seen as a reputation healing machine.

I do hope they recognize they can make their own proprietary currency like Forum Gold on JSP, then use it to facilitate trading. But I doubt they will see the value in that.

Yep, which is why I say, let Diablo Immortal have all the mmo features it can, so Diablo 4 doesn’t have to take nearly as many; and instead can be an arpg game that’s equally doable for solo and multiplayer.

Beside town, cities, camp, outpost, I don’t think that we’ll see a lot of other players in D4.
It would be a nice from Blizz to set a different amount of visible players depending on the area where our character stand.
This would make sense to see plenty of players in a city but only a handle while on camp/outpost.

I have absolutely no problem with let’s say 40 visible players while in a city or on a fight against a world boss.

I really astound how many think we don’t get all this in D4. Lie further to yourself.
We will get this shop where you can buy all the things you can in DI from battle pass, to Skins (which means you will look like a player in PoE because all cool skins are in the store because they want to sell them etc.

And all the other players in the world?? No way (hahaha)?? They already announced it. It is a shared world. What means enemies respawn out of nowhere around you. And the story is only in separated Dungeons.

It will be almost the same game as immortal but only with nicer graphics.

They forgot to milk Diablo 3 after the auction house sh…storm. But don’t think they will make this mistake with Diablo 4 again.

D4 devs said D4 will not have Pay for power. I believed them (past tense).

If DI turned out to be a big finanical success (Probably due to the far east), then the greedy top management may demand samilar MTXs in D4. This is my worse fear.

Even without Far East, USA mobile market alone is already more profitable than your average B2P sales.

I am not one of those “purists” that stil expect B2P models in live service games.

I am also not delusionist or idealists that thinks that dev making game for passion, & profit should be afterthought or secondary or whatever.

I do not even mind companies being “greedy”. I have thrown at least 300€ on Fortnite but the game also give me like 1000+ hours of fun.

A lot of people here (lets me real, most Diablo fans are not spring chicken, spring chicken play fortnite, minecraft etc) have finanicial means & do not mind throwing $ at Blizzard for regular updates & cosmetics, or some Clan related thing (like you can decorate your clan castle if it existed).

The HOW they monetizse is important. I buy mostly skins on fortnite (cost from 8bucks to 32 for bundles) ,& they are usually high quality & many licenced (like marvel heroes). All while Epic update Fortnite regularly, event free in game concerts, & using the profit to help indie dev using UE4/5. If you spend ZERO $, you can still enjoy everything include the free events & concert, & not be handicapped.

in DI, every few mins, they pop somethng to sell you, open a vendor, items cost real money, open another , same thing. I can close 1/2 eye if the p2W is not as accessive & give “some” advantage. But turned out it is as bad as most mobile shameless P2W.

Ugh… How stupid can you get? D4 will not need this monetisation modell because it’s not going to be free to play, and it will not be a mobile game either. Immortal follows the F2P Mobile game blueprint, BECAUSE IT’S A F2P MOBILE GAME! D4 is going to be you traditional buy to play, earn stuff by playing ARPG. Stop this gloom and doom attitued. Attleast hold it back untill, there’s proof that you were right. Because right now how D:I works, does nothing to do whit D4.
