Fastest Way to Get Six Piece Set

Hey, All!

Starting the season very late. I’ve created a Wizard; however, can I do this faster with Necro? Meaning, is it possible to get all of Haedrig’s Gifts with the Necro and save them for my Wizard? Will the Necro have enough power to do this? (I’ve never tried this. So, I don’t know.)

Will the Necro have more power than an early Wizard? Yes.

Is it worth starting a Necro and switching to a Wizard? IMHO, no. Regardless of if you level with or without a cache, Wizard is fairly similar to Necromancer to 70. Or, at the very least, fast enough that it’s not going to be faster to dual class to level up. And getting Haedrig’s at that point is a wash.

I did Necro first this season and found it is massively more efficient.

Necro is vastly more efficient IMO with or without the cache. Three hours I got the complete Haedrigs bags using necro all the way from zero, then opened Haedrigs on DH.

15 mins and the DH was at level 70.

I followed Filthy Casuals system which seems pretty darn good to me.

On EU, TinneOnnMuin beat me to 70 by a few minutes. On Americas, I beat him to 70 in a few minutes. We’re talking <3 minutes difference here.

Without a cache, from my testing, Wizard is actually the fastest class to 70, slightly followed by Witch Doctor, then Necromancer.

I’d suggest looking at Tinne’s season start and practice videos, as they can be helpful if you’re looking for a little boost. I’ve made some slight modifications to eek out just a little extra speed and can now hit 70 in under an hour without a cache with a Wizard near 100% of the time (and typically closer to 50 minutes).

It also depends what your goal is. Just 1-70 asap or 1 - Haedrigs.

I would argue 1 - Haedrigs is more useful, but that is up to each person to decide.

Necromancer is also going to be slower to Haedrig’s than a Wizard. Yes, a Necro has earlier power, but they lack move speed.

I was the third DH on Asia to hit GR75 in SSF, didn’t use a Cache, and leveled with a Witch Doctor.

55 minutes to 70 as a Witch Doctor (which is about on par with what I’d get as a necro), no seasonal cache used. And take into account this is Asia, so I have a 300+ ping. (And Wizard will be a little bit faster here).

I did lvl 70 + Haedrig on Necro (just left “quest” to Transmog an item open). Easy on Necro, just get LoD set-up of Death Nova or even Bone Spear to farm up to T4. LoD gem is the 2nd to drop, technically with all legendaries on you (I crafted lvl 61 ones - cheaper to do) on slots I didn’t have any dropped while leveling, even lvl 8 LoD gem is enough to get T4 “checks” done.

Created a lvl 1 Barb, crafted 1H Mighty Weapon, upgraded to leg in cube (any works to get to lvl 70 on T6). Transmoged one item and immediately had full 6pc WW set. Win!
