Familiar is a summoned companion of the Wizard class. It does not benefit of Tasker and Theos attack speed increase nor of the Enforcer gem. But should Familiar do? What’s your opinion. It’s a skill that is almost never used. But with the rework of Firebird the Sparkflint rune triggers the 6p effect. The question is, do you consider Familiar as a pet or not?
IHHHHH…
thats realy strange…
bit dont worry, who knows 1 day they remember that.
All other Companions (DH) benefit of Pet related powers. And Familiar is stated to be a companion. It’s something that attacks when you do. The same way Simulacrums or Sentries work with the Marauder set. For me it is an oversight that should be fixed.
They can fix all pet AI while they’re at it.
Zombie bears should be pets, too, just because.
Even Phalanx of the cruzader get benefit from those items
Well if skeletal mages are considred as pets (they shouldn’t be imo tho), familiar should certainly fall in to the categori of pets, thus benefiting from every pet multiplier.
it’s useless for Familiar. Unless the majority of your damage is coming from companions don’t bother with it
Increase attack speed of your pets by 45%. [40 - 50]%
The Familiar ability, when runed with Sparkflint makes the attacks it does fire-based. This proc’s the 6-piece of the Firebird’s set. This isn’t about increasing the damage that the Familiar’s attacks do, but rather to increase the rate at which the attacks are made, so the 6-piece procs more often.
I use it in my typhon hydra build for the extra dmg from sparkflint.
Most pets and clones in the game can be damaged until you use a Set power to make them invulnerable. The ones that are unable to be targeted by monsters and still classified as pets either have really low damage output, have an active benefit for encouraging more interaction or rather fickle to have short duration.
If they want a buffed Firebird build, nobody can’t estimate their next patch at all. They can change this easily to classify Familiar as a pet regardless of few distinguishing traits but I doubt they want to buff Firebird soon.
Yes, I play a EB based FB build. And Familiar with Sparkflint really increases your RG damage. Only did a GR 120 with 11K mainstat in 9:06 Minutes. I’m using Hydra, too. EB kills the Trash and placing the basic Hydra correctly to let it kill the Elites fast. I’m using Invigorating Gem stone, because being knockbacked/feared all the time is outragoues. But maybe I should replace it with Gogok of Swiftness/Bane of Stricken.
Actually Familiar could always shoot Magic Missile.
If you like to use familiar to proc Firebird 6p, remember to recast it when you have attack speed buffs like Speed Pylon because familiar snapshots your attack speed when you cast it.
good to know, I stand corrected
A bit off topic, but did you guys know that Enforcer gems DR power works on the followers? I saw a vid of wudijos and Rhykkers Inna build options, and they all said it does. It’s new to me, and never heard of this before anywhere.
So you’ve never heard of maxroll.gg? and Raxxanterax’s youtube channel?
I do, i just never ran in to this info. I might have read it tho, it just didn’t stuck in my head. I tend to forget things. But now that i humilated my self, it will surely burn into my mind.
Tbh, I consider familiar as much as a pet as the storm armor skill. Also, if I remember correctly, familiar’s firing rate is tied to the player’s own attack speed; so if one wants the familiar firing faster, then one would need to increase their attack speed (although I don’t know whether it’d be worth it).
Ok, I have one question. Cause I never played Marauder Set. Are the sentries shooting faster then you do with Tasker & Theo? If no one know I have to test it.
Technically, Sentries are considered pets, so for example Enforcer gem works with them. However, T&T is mostly useless in this scenario, as it will only increase their normal firing rate, which is rather weak. Their strongest feature with Marauder is that they replicate your spender skills, such as Multishot and Cluster Arrow, but they only do it when you use those skills (just like Necro’s Simulacrum). They don’t shoot Multishot all the time by themselves.
With this set, T&T will increase the attack speed of your Companions (those that come from the Companion skill), but it’s not really worth it.
