Falcon wings question

Are the falcon wings only obtainable for seasonal characters? I just picked this game back up after not playing for 4 years. i dont remember much.

Been running around with my non season character trying to find them with no luck.

They are a pretty rare drop. I found them by accident not knowing what it was. Total waste of RNG. LOL

Found pair of falcon wings during the first season. They were found in the heaven area, 1V.

Depends on how many runs you’ve done. They only drop from a chest in one of the Act IV areas and when I got mine, I spent all morning reloading games just to get it (about 3-4hrs speed running through that zone with a chicken doc). Of course, I got a few clan members in as well as my alt account before I opened it.

TBH, I don’t really like how they implemented the cosmetics hunting in this game. Whilst we can farm certain areas in order to force the spawning of the cosmetic item, I’d have preferred that they all dropped from the same rare, random event that can spawn anywhere that a bounty is available… say, each game instance has a 10% chance of a rainbow goblin spawning in a bounty zone. And each whimsydale has a 10% chance of a Diablo pinata with a guaranteed cosmetic… whether it be a white transmog or something of greater value like the elusive cosmic wings.

Once you get the cosmetic, you will no longer drop that item until you’ve exhausted the entire pool of possible cosmetics, after which you’ll drop a random white transmog.

This would mean that on average, it would take 100 bounty runs before you’d get a whimsydale that would give a cosmetic but it would mean that bounties would be more rewarding and there would be greater value put on white transmog items as sharing them would greatly reduce the pool of one’s unobtained cosmetics making things like cosmic wings easier to obtain. Running bounties would also be more rewarding that chest, elite or gob farming. You’d just keep running bounties and clearing all zones rather than doing what I did and spend 4hrs running the same area getting no mats or anything (that was just one cosmetic… imagine what I had to do for all the white items, rainbow portrait, Harvest pennant, etc).

With such a system, they could simply add new cosmetics to the pool of available drops every season.

Here you go:

I actually like it this way. It forces you to play in a certain area instead of just going on your merry way and if it is in a bounty you are getting what you need for progress whilst having a chance for this drop. So you are spending time only on this instead of normal grinding, it is more of a choice to make.

In terms of getting them it would be nice I guess, part of why I don’t have any of the rare ones is I can’t be bothered to play a specific area over and over just for a cosmetic. Also cause I am not a big fan of them. Cosmic wings look cool and all but not worth the amount of hours to me.

Each to their own but I’d dare say that you’d change your mind if you did go through getting all/most of the cosmetics like I have. I only have two that I haven’t gotten… cosmic wings and Wirt’s Original Leg. The process was not very enjoyable… only the rewards were.

The irony is that their original intention with the cosmetics would be that they were items that we’d stumble upon whilst in the process of playing the game normally and essentially get a surprise. What the devs failed to realise was that the player base is a lot more crafty and would be able to relatively accurately deduce the areas and spawn chances of these items. This subsequently resulted in players focusing on grinding the same areas rather than playing the game normally. And for players like me who’ve grinded a fair bit for Princess Lillian, it’s now a very unrewarding experience when we get one more failed trip to Whimsydale.

Turns out I am just super unlucky lol. They wont show up for me at all.

Just keep reloading the game and farming Gardens of Hope Lvl1 until you find a Mysterious Chest.

I found them on season by accident a few years ago.
