Are the explosions in the seasons EN not Fire damage? Because everywhere else in the game they are considered fire.
I have the Star of Azkaranth equipped to my cube, and I tried tanking the explosions and got insta-gibbed. If they’re not fire damage, shouldn’t there be some kind of visual queue, or warning?

They started as fire damage until we figured out the ring could bypass them so they changed the damage type to physical instead.

Am I supposed to look that up somewhere outside the game? Is that good game design? lol
But thank you for the info.
Never said it was good game design, they opened it up in PTR for testing, took everything we suggested about it and did the exact opposite.
Definitely sounds that way. Because this just disables most builds in the game with artificial difficulty. And misleading difficulty at that. Imagine all the Hardcore players thinking they can tank that, and then they die with no warning.
This is not only bad, but lazy. Guess I’ll just skip the EN then.
They also removed the shield pylon and replaced it with speed and disabled all CC effects.
Was that not only hard CC effects? Slow should still work I thought I read, by the way are those poison thingies at least poison damage or also something else?
I agree it is bad and misleading design, especially since it is a mechanic lent from other part of game where it is fire and any info in game about the CC and being physical damage is missing. Only by looking it up outside of game you will find the info you need … Bad game design imo.
If you’re referring to the green bombs that drop at the end they’re basically the same thing as what Belial hurls at you near the end of Chapter II while you’re running around gathering up townsfolk. Wizard shields do an OK job of absorbing one but it’s best to just learn to dodge them. I run one or two EN a day in HC for the rank 125 whispers. It’s really just another farming job in a game chock full of farming jobs. And that’s kind of the curse of Echoing Nightmare… those rank 125 augments are too good to pass up. Instead of grinding for a couple hours rank up some legendary thru 25 GR runs and burning thru a mountain of gold and 25 rift keys (or more if you’re fishing for high level rifts) you get an augment in 3 or 4 minutes.

The blog post of the season, its theme and patch notes are always put for everyone to read in the Battle.net launcher. The info is there if one just bothers to look it up.

That is indeed outside of the game though in the end. Related to but still outside and even in them some details go missing or you easily miss their importance if have not played it yourself yet. Lazy devving still is lazy devving, just as D2 tooltips became so horrible only way to understand what skills did was online after some patches. :P.
