Comparing to actual season 24, this season, which is supposed to be a copy of 24 , well it’s not. In s24 I was getting an ethereal every other grift 90+ now I’m lucky if I get one after 10 grifts 90+. What is the actual point of the theme if they reduced the drop chance by 50% at least.
The drop rates are the same as before. Just because you happen to have a bad streak of luck doesn’t mean something’s off.

If you aren’t getting “enough” Ethereals, you can also reforge them or craft them as a Primal in the Cube. Don’t try those recipes unless you are low on Ashes or Souls materials; process randomizes their legendary power with the passive. You may not like the result once you do it and may have repeat it some more.
No such thing I believe. If that’s true you were lucky back then. Ethereals supposed to drop with a chance inbetween Primals and Ancients drop rate, which is pretty vague but that simply means they don’t rain or emerge from every where. That lands them roughly inbetween 10% to 0.25% chance to be looted. I wouldn’t know about the exact drop chance but you can not ignore that you have 90% chance to NOT have any Ethereals.
From running ten GR90 in a row should net you 120 legendary items at most and by running averages, you should have twelve to none Ethereal weapons from those runs by average. If we are speaking about averages, looting around 100-120 legendary grade items are barely enough to score ten Ethereals.
Too many complain about drop rates but usually it turns out those players are not farming at T16 Visions for long or hitting up speed Greater Rifts at a consistent rate.
If you are having a bad luck streak, doesn’t mean the system is broken. You can always seek your luck else where such as Visions or Nephalem Rifts. There’s one thing to keep in mind while calculating the odds; small sample size will not reflect the averages most of the time, and very large sample sizes can have some deviations from the expected values.

This doesn’t help if you’re trying to complete the Achievement and gain the Transmogs though. (You need all 21, different, Ethereal Weapons).
However, @Ariel did say they had an easier time in Season 24. So, in their case, they probably already have the Transmogs and are trying to get a better version of an Ethereal Weapon they want to equip.

I am thinking rose tinted glasses. I played the living hell out of S24 and was nowhere near averaging an Ethereal every other GR. The drop rate is the same.
I can go 1 10 floor Vision and get 5 of them, then do another 10 floor Vision and get none.

I thought you couldn’t reforge or craft them primals?
For whatever reason, it’s allowing it this time around.
I’ve gotten a bunch of them. So many that I could of filled 2 stash tabs with them. Drop rate doesn’t feel any different.

I wouldn’t call running 15 GR 90s without an ethereal a bad streak, i could run that in s24 on multiple characters and have at least 3 or 4 ethereals. They definitely changed something.

Very true. And because of Visions, that weren’t around in season 24, drops have been more plentiful.

I have run multiple visions and click on them every time except when I was doing boss mode, have yet to see one there. At this rate I would consider them the same drop rate as primals.

That’s not even bad luck, just absolutely normal variance of RNG.
Nothing is broken. Nothing has been changed. It is exactly the same as before.

Show us then evidence that drop rates have been changed. Your feels are not evidence. 15 GRs is not even a fraction of a sufficient sample size.

and here’s me running a vision last night and getting 4 of them…
I also had a similar problem with petrified screams. Weren’t getting a lot of them drop. I then changed to a different build which could push much higher than my normal build and they started dropping. I do wonder if Blizzard has gated these items behind a GR clear…
- Primals became rare than it was before, so chance between primals and ancient is also became less
- If you want to get achievement no need to try to get it on 70lvl. Make a 5lvl games.
