It does the same for D4 also, so it’s not just D3.

I had been playing on EU for a while… logged off for dinner here in NA and now can’t login to any server. Sigh…

If it was only affecting D3 maybe, but D4 has the same error code, it’s the auth server, so those who are already in and playing have no issue.

I did preface my comment with “I know it’s not”!

We’ve had this before and it’s usually because of a DDoS. Hopefully it’s something that’ll pass and not something silly like they’ve patched a server and broken it.

Lame hackers launching a DDoS attack seems right on brand for Blizzard. It’s not really their fault but for a company that basically forces 100% connectivity to play their games they should be MUCH better at dealing with the problem.
