It takes about 5 seconds for the Endless Walk from 50% damage reduction(zero damage promotion) to 100% damage promotion. When players stop walking and attack, they desire 100% damage increasing of Endless Walk can come faster, especially in fast clear GR.I propose it only needs 3.5 seconds rather than 5 seconds.
That’s more likely a signal that you actually lack the desired toughness at the first place. Either gather more toughness by switching around your skills or don’t hurry to the advantageous position in a whim to get flushed away the second you step in.
Make a stop or two inbetween before heading to that location you deem as safe and advantageous. In case, you exhaust some valid options early, you’ll have no ground to evacuate or escape when confronting elites.
As a personal opinion I think it’s fine. The alternative option, Squirt’s medallion requires no damage incurred for 10 seconds to stack up for double damage. All you had to do with Traveller’s is just giving a stop somewhere inbetween to dodge the elite attacks or misguide them.
Elaboration of why do you want to cut the time in half would be appreciated for feedback though. I see you racking up really high paragon level at off-season and seasonal. You shouldn’t have any problems about toughness. Why do you want the change besides “wanting”?
Except the GR for rank, the killing time of a elite is usually about 3~7 seconds, while the Endless Walk increases the damage from 0 to 100%, which takes about 5 seconds. Therefore, Except the GR for rank, I think the utilization rate of the increased damage of Endless Walk is not high, so I think it is meaningful to reduce the time. After all, we chose to use Endless Walk for damage promotion, not for toughness. As the damage reduction of sets is getting higher, and the stone arm was remade, the damage reduction of Endless Walk is no longer important.
If I remember correctly the damage will stay at 100 or close to 100 if you use a movement skill other than walking.
While it’s undeniably true, you have the option to swap the amulet for another instead. If you’re not pushing, I think there are two valid options; Overwhelming Desire and Ess of Johan for utilizing area damage. In case you lack area damage or doing speeds for low legendary gems, then Haunt of Vaxo could come handy but that’s hardly the case most of the time. At any other occassion, you can easily await Oculus Ring from your Follower and head to ring of light that occurred with or without Endless Walk too.
Developers usually consider doing drastic changes if high level of gameplay would be affected from it. Call it trickle-down balance if you will.
Also true. As far as I remember, stutter stepping helps too.
I’d rather it be instantly swaping to max value.
5 seconds are nothing in speed.
5 seconds are good when you push.
Don’t touch this set.
Play a build that doesn’t use Endless Walk for speed GR. Problem solved.
I was under the impression that a tad more than just stutter stepping was also fine. Like the small amounts you could make to reposition or dodge those damn goatman spears.
But I haven’t looked at the item in ages.
Many Build our best choice is Endless Walk,e.g.Ronald,Seeker,Mundunugu,Marauder,Invoker,Arachyr,H90,and so on.
It’s called Endless Walk for a reason. Don’t stop never stopping!
I looked up Mundunugu on maxroll: Endless walk for pushing and group trash killer. Everything else that requires speed: Squirt’s.
Ronald Roland: Squirt’s for speed. Endless for push.
Marauder even Squirt’s for solo push…
Didn’t check the other builds
How to define speed,I think 9000 paragon clear 120 GR is speed. In fact, it is impossible to keep Squirt’s 10 stacks above 115GR,even use
Molten Wildebeest’s Gizzard.
That’s an odd way of defining speed… in fact not defining speed at all.
It’s definitely possible to keep up 10 stacks or get somewhere from 5 to 10 stacks of squirt’s above 115 with several builds a lot of the time (without shield pylon of course). I can do it with Impale this season (far below 2000 paragons) even when moving around and in between monsters (depending on the type of course). And with my LoD WoL monk I regularly keep up 10 stacks fighting several different types of RGs while taking about 80-90% of their health in GRs around 130.
yes, some build can,LOD Build often can equip Archew’s Gage, but set Build often no place to use it.Impale can keep it because of Smoke Screen.
It’s also dodge chance, serenity, a lot of the things the enchantress can do with skills and gear, I suppose. Cyclone strike may also stop some monster attacks. With Impale freezes (from bolas) and stuns etc also plays a big part.
Oddly enough, people don’t really care and use that everywhere. If class have invulnerability frames (Serenity, Smoke Screen) or very high absorb (Diamond Skin) that can bypass damage, they usually trust that. No one really cares about including Gizzard gem besides LoN builds, I think.
These guides deem both Endless Walk and Squirt’s as the best options because they run simulators for it and on paper, it looks the best deal you can get. Things may change when you decide to try it on practice regarding your toughness, recovery or monsters that you face in the GR layout.
As I said before, give a try to Overwhelming Desire or Ess of Johan if you’re not happy with Endless Walk and Squirt’s sustain. Mass crowd control will return as mass area damage if used right. The ring slot you lose from Compass Rose can be anything; Unity or a defensive option like Band of Might, Justice Lantern or Elusive Ring.
In keep of Squirt’s,Wizzard,Demon Hunter, Monk and LOD Build have advantages, so I think my proposal can balance it,e.g.Barb,Cru,WD,Nec hard to keep Squirt’s,the loss of damage caused by using Endless Walk is small.because it stacks 100% damage increasing is faster.
If you are not aware it’s balanced as it is already. Both Squirt’s and Traveller takes around 10 seconds to gain their full power and both of them require you to read the combat area. Changing or buffing one to be shorter, justify the change for the other.
Just do NOT use Traveller’s Pledge if you have issues about its upkeep and problem solves itself. You really have options even if you deny so.
Thank you. I thought that I would get support from many people if I post this idea. But I didn’t expect that there would be many disputes. I know Blizzard is very cautious about controversial changes, so this change will never happen.
