Emnity feedback

It’s been a while since I played D3 and figured I would play while I wait for D4LOH. It’s been great seeing the new stuff implemented, but the Emnity can be a little annoying. The timer at the end after you open the chest that pops up on top of the enemy you killed so you click it open by accident is frustrating. I therefore lose the time to sift through and pick up all my drops before I am teleported into town. And why into town? Why not were the rift popped up? So ya, it would be great to a portal pop up after we finish the Emnity next to the chest and it takes us back to where we were when it populated. Not sure if anything would be done seeing as old as this game is, but hey worth a shot.

It may happen one day, but I wouldn’t count on it being any time soon. Once Blizzard was done with D2, it took 2 years before anything in that changed. But you never know, nobody thought we’d get a DLC for a game over 20 years old.

Not sure what the odds are that someone from the company will review this and make a note, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

In before Aboshan and his “Game isn’t in development!” copypasta.

There is a reason behind naming it “enmity” it seems
The problems or issues have been up in the forum right from the introduction of these things.
Always beware when hearing a single goblin giggle when entering a level. It helps if your main attack isn’t on left click and if you don’t always use left click to move… and sometimes plan ahead if you are getting a Vision portal when doing a bounty where you have to travel a long way to get to the target.

Welcome back!

I’m not sure how you have your loot drop Options set. But, you can (carefully) Alt+Click on the Labels to make sure you click the loot and not the Diabolical Chest (until you’re ready).

I have my loot Options set up to show icons instead of labels. And I have it set so they never fade out. That is, they show permanently until I pick the loot up or leave it behind.
I don't have to use the Alt key. I just carefully click on the icons until I pick up everything I want to keep. Then, I check my Inventory. If it's full, I go back to town to empty it. Finally, I open the Chest and grab the Mats and other loot.

Note:

Visions are a good way to start a Season. With a head start on Bounty Mats and unlocking the second Seal on the Altar of Rites, your Character can be very powerful practically “out of the gate”.

Eventually, you’ll have so much Bounty and Crafting Mats it won’t matter. At that point, you’ll probably be pushing Greater Rifts.

I’m looking forward to checking out the Warlock. (I also need to get back here and farm 3 more Primal items so I can complete the Altar by unlocking the third Potion).

Best of luck on your D3 and D4 adventures!

You post icon a lot. What is your brew of choice anyway. And don’t tell me that’s Ovaltine…

I have never gotten used to icons but always use labels (always on) for drops.
My comments are usually based on what I have learned from others (like Perusoe) and from all the mistakes I have made myself. If I happen to not be able to pick up all the loot in one go I port to town, drop as many items as needed on the ground and jump back to get the rest.

If your suggestion includes getting rid of the timer at the end, the problem with that is that there would be no way to close the fissure and thus, we’d need to make a new game instance in order to spawn another one. This is more likely a problem if one is in the middle of bounties and not finished yet but wants fissures to keep spawning.

I 've always thought it would be better if they made Fissures able to be opened from the obelisk in town… opening the chest would not close the fissure, talking to Orek would. And it would negate the need to hunt the damn things down. Maybe unlocked from doing a GR110… at that point, I don’t expect too many players wanting to do bounties or venture out into the open world. Being able to spawn a fissure in town, run them for keys, all mats, gems, and gear and then being able to jump into a GR all from the same spot would be a huge QoL improvement.

It would also mean that one can open up a fissure in town to stop random ones spawning in the open world when doing bounties if they wanted a session focused on bounties and not interrupted due to a fissure spawning.

Anyway, another point to add to the D3R wishlist.

Easiest way to “guarantee” a visions portal to spawn is to attempt to do a boss bounty.

You’ll get the portal RIGHT before the boss entrance. “Guaranteed”

Umm…

Actually, these days it’s more:

Or

  • On the last Visions Level you kill the Goblin that would drop the Diabolical Chest.
  • Instead of the Chest it spawns an Exit Obelisk.
  • The Exit Obelisk takes you back to where you first entered the Visions with the Chest waiting for you.
  • Open the Chest and the timer starts.
  • When the timer expires the Visions instance disappears, but the Chest remains.
  • Teleport to town. (If you need to). And take Town Portal back to the empty Chest.
  • Pick up where you left off.

Since the Visions instance has now been de-spawned another can spawn in a different area. The empty Chest left behind would be no different than any other Chest we opened anywhere else in the game.

Make sure you activate “pet-auto salvage” Altar node. He takes care of all the trash, leaving you just legendaries and some gems (mats if a goblin floor).

I have yet to hit the chest until I am ready. My strategy is to look on the mini-map for the portal. If I full cleared the level, and no portal, then there is most likely a chest there and I am cautious when picking things up.

This would make the most sense and is probably why they didn’t do it.

That isn’t a problem if it’s a boss that has an “exit door” after you “end” it.
But there are many that don’t have that, so yeah…

OP is just at 15 paragons on a WD (and is probably back playing D4). It will take some farming to get to the eight node (not that it’s overly hard but still).

Sometimes I wonder if Mattelot isn’t secretly in love with Aboshan.
So much love and hate…
So much copypasta…

Ya, but still solid general advice.

A lot of newbies and returning players unfamiliar with the Altar will select power creep ones like 5% more damage, then spend 15 minutes-20 minutes in one Vision picking up whites, blues, and yellows and going back and forth to town to salvage.

Not really.

On ranged heroes this is a rare issue.
Melee heroes will automatically open the chest.

Usually it’s still possible to scoop up items, except when there are too many drops (mobs or deep level). Goblin levels are nasty on their own because you cannot even jump out to empty bags and return - they will despawn. Goblin levels should never be the last.

An explicit exit portal / dialogue like with rifts could work.

that can actually happen? Never had it happen to me.

It can. It’s just random. Had it happen to me a few times. First time I probably made the mistake to accidentally click the chest too soon  Since then I’ve always been careful to look for a portal to the next level when all goblins are cleared. Also with the pet pick node usually in place before serious enmity farming there is much less clutter. But caution is always in place.
