Quin69TV just posted a reaction video to Elon Musk admitting to cheating in Diablo 3 and Diablo 4. Who’s betting that he won’t get banned?
That’s a given. I mean, as soon as they ban him, they’ll get their blue check mark taken.
All the more reason for them to switch to Bluesky, but they won’t. Too busy gargling Elon’s nuts.
Just sayin’.
He won’t be, that’s a given. People have pointed out other named folks who admit or are recorded cheating and nothing happens. Some probably do it to prove it or to brag.
Had my first death since returning to D4 today while we are openly admitting things.
This should be Blizzard’s new advertisement for Diablo games…
“So easy, even Elon can play it with a boosted account.”
Just sayin’.
It’s not easy at all though. Maybe on normal it is.
That’s my fault for jinxing it…
Lol. Thought so, as fun as it was. It suddenly became very difficult.
I agree, it sort of isn’t easy, but similar to D3, the hardest content in D4 is their GRift equivalent, the Pit.
And the only difference from running Pit 80 or Pit 150 is math. The strategy doesn’t change between.
Lore is different and so is everything about it. It’s timed… if that’s what you mean yes. I didn’t die in the pit either i died rescuing Subo. The pit felt easier to be honest apart from the rush.
So paying someone to play for him isn’t a problem
Boosting a character is.
Do yourself a favor and stop giving this guy your time and attention.
Unfortunately, we can’t avoid him in the USA unless Donald fires him.
He didn’t mention Diablo 3; all the fad was about Diablo 4 and PoE 2. I have the impression that he genuinely played Diablo 4 and understands it to a great degree, but he didn’t really care for PoE 2 thus it was this obvious. Once a former employee of ID Software, also a sentient artificial intelligence in the guise of a human, John Carmack said that Elon is pretty good at the D4 and have been playing with his girlfriend. I believe he can not fake that.
Again, this has nothing to do with Diablo 3, though.
“So easy, even a multi-billionaire can play with a boosted account and top LBs. I just need to be a multi-billionaire.”
Personally, I don’t even care if he does that or not.
If I had that kind of money, I wouldn’t want to waste time playing games that much myself. lol
That’s the point, DTMAce. He chose to pretend to be a gamer for no good reason. It’s obvious he doesn’t “have the time to game” with running his businesses into the ground and all.
And I wouldn’t care but this buffoon has decided that he also wants to decide if Social Security is worth keeping, and if it’s only his government contracts that get renewed or paid.
Yeah, it’s a little more important than, “aw shucks he cheated at video games, why would we care?” You know?
That would be nice but I would not expect it.
-
Boosting: Playing with others who carry you through content - is not against the rules. If that is all someone does. Not worth bragging about though and pretending to do it solo is scummy.
-
Getting free gear from people you play with: Also not self-found and some top players do get gear funneled to them in ways other players can not.
What crosses the line to EULA violations is when people:
-
PAY REAL MONEY for game services like carries/boosts, gear, or game currency.
-
Account sharing
Blizzard would have to actually prove it before they can do anything to the account. Depending on the logs for D4, I don’t know that they can. Esp with someone who jets around the world like Elon does. Knowing he does something like account share is one thing - PROVING it is another. I doubt any game company would want to ban him then deal with the lawsuits that might result, or the social media backlash.
PoE I have no insight into how their anti-cheat systems work or what their policies are. Can’t comment on that.
I agree with Melos that I doubt any gaming company wants to open that can of worms even though he certainly deserves it if he actually violated the EULA.
Otherwise, the main take away I get is that Elon is a dude with a huge ego who wants attention. Attention built on the work of others, not his own work. Just like the companies he bought, and the engineers who actually run them. He does not even have an engineering degree, he did not invent Tesla, he does not invent amazing space tech. He throws money at others and takes credit for it.
Even that is not that odd if he just accepted that he is a funding guy, but he gets weird about having to get his ego stroked. Even to the point of misrepresenting his gameplay, or even P2W. Games are hobbies, like why dude?
These kinda people are all the same.
They always use others and pretent they know things and they worked hard for the things they have.
In truth they are just con-man.
They just take others’ work and pose for public like they did those things.
As you know, Blizzard keeps track of the IP address and physical location of where you login. That is an easy way to take a first look at account sharing.
This is even true for the forum if you check your own Blizzard json file. That information is hidden when other’s check a Blizzard json file that is not their own.
I realize that. I know exactly what they do record. However, IP is not the whole story or people would get penalized just for using VPNs. The person in question jets all over the world in ways that normal people can not. He controls a vast array of internet service satellites so has connections anywhere he goes - possibly with really odd logs.
They would have to prove, beyond his bragging, that his account violated the rules. In his case it is going to be much harder to do because he has unique access to tech and transportation that others do not.
He did do it, and it is certainly against the rules. PROVING it though is much harder.
Apparently he now has admitted to cheating. I would call that a confession.
With that confession, I think Blizzard needs to find confirmatory evidence but I would argue that their burden of proof is less since he confessed to cheating.
