It also works for the altar. Sanctified puzzle ring counts just as an ancient one.

While we’re on the subject, worth noting that sanctified items are basically a second “crafted primal” for most practical purposes. Two easy perfect slots this season

Are they abundant past a certain difficulty? Have yet to see one.
No difficulty tie-in that I’m aware of, but I do know they’re only supposed to drop for level 70 characters. So basically, if you can do GR’s, you can get them. They’ll probably drop in sub-torment levels, but honestly, I’ve never tried it.
I don’t know their formal drop rate (not sure if that’s even publicly known at all), but from my past experiences I’d say they’re more common than Rama’s. In fact just like Rama’s, it tends to “feel” like you’re going infinite stretches of time without seeing a single one, and then WHAM! You’ll suddenly find yourself with way too many.

What exactly is the difference between a Vault created by an ordinary Puzzle Ring and an Ancient/Primal one?
When you reach the power of soloing Torment 16 Visions, they’re abundant in drops.
Using ancient/primal Puzzle Rings opens the Ancient Vault which contains treasure goblins rather than standard vault monsters.

At high torment difficulties they drop like crazy. Way more frequently than ramaladni gift and petrified scream. They can drop in GRs, Nephelim rifts, visions of emnity and pretty much anywere. For example, in GRs, I am doing 90+ and they drop once every 2 - 4 rifts. Often two at a time.
I had only gotten one up to 360 something paragon but now I had two in one game from the portal things. Still haven’t gotten the right power. Not on max torment yet, I probably have the damage for it already but I need another source of DR first.
This was well-timed advice, thanks! Just got to the ring and thought, jeez, how long will it be this season? I even have a regular ring handy right now.

The Angelic Crucibles aren’t supposed to work on crafted items. But, has anyone tried one on a Hellfire Amulet?

these darn crucibles i guess are sucking up the consumable drops. I have seen around 15 of them so far, but only 1 socket cube. Usually by this stage i have half a dozen cubes sitting in my chest.
I wonder if you’re right? So many crucibles, so few screams
Easy way to test this:
Turn off pet
Run a GR that has guaranteed 12 drops
Do runs until a crucible drops
If there are 12 drops in that run, then crucibles are in the drop pool. If there are 13 drops in that run, crucibles are separate from the drop pool as happens with screams.
