Early Impressions and Mechanics for the items I was able to acquire as a Wizard.
Testing is thus far done on non-season with GRs and out in adventure mode. Seasonal buff is not active at the moment on non-seasonal PTR.
Mechanics
Messerschmidt’s Reaver:
- Chooses a spell to reduce cooldown for randomly.
- Activating the on kill bonus reduces the cooldown of archon while in archon form.
Echoing Fury:
- Tested by sVr:
- Appears to stack together (stacks are additive with one another).
- About a 6s duration. Starts counting from the time an enemy is killed.
- Killing an enemy refreshes duration, and adds a stack (if not at maximum stacks).
Stone Gauntlets:
- Appears to stack together (stacks are additive with one another).
- About a 6s duration. Starts counting after you take a hit from an enemy.
- Not affected by shielding. If hit while shields are active, still refreshes the bonus.
- Getting hit by an enemy refreshes duration, and adds a stack (if not at maximum stacks).
- Total Attack speed penalty appears to be multiplicative. However, notably, this is reflected under the “attack speed increase” category on sheet.
- Tested at 1 APS with 5 stacks, the AS penalty reduced to 0.1 APS on sheet.
- Tested at 1.10 APS with 5 stacks, the AS penalty reduced to 0.11 APS on sheet.
- Tested at 1.498 APS (1.50 APS sheet) with 5 stacks, the AS penalty reduced to .15 APS on sheet.
- These quick tests suggest that the total reduction is a multiplier of 10% (or 0.1 times) current attack speed.
- Movement Speed penalty is additive with movement speed on sheet.
- Movement Speed can go negative.
Squirt’s Necklace:
- Currently bugged with no icon, and does not appear to be working properly. Could be it is working, but not persisting wizard shielding abilities. Either way, something is amiss.

Legacy of Dreams (gem):
- At maximum level, should be equal to the LoN damage bonus. Have not tested this item other than to see how it levels.
- Increases damage per level at a rate of 3.75% per level.
- Defensive bonus and secondary bonus are static (remain unchanged) as the gem is leveled).
The Flavor of Time:
- Bonus for doubled duration of pylon effects appears to be working as expected in Greater rifts. More testing is required of course.
Early Feedback:
Messerschmidt’s Reaver:
Love it so far. Worried about it’s value as compared to other weapons in a push scenario but I can already see it’s value for speed builds. I like the fact that this can reduce archon while in archon form.
Echoing Fury:
The 6s duration for an on-kill effect is going to severely limit the implementation of this weapon in a push scenario. Mostly going to be limited to speed farming. I suggest to increase the duration (perhaps to 10s or so), as making use of this item in higher GRs is more problematic unless your build deals very high burst damage in rotation, and you able to kill small enemies on demand to ramp up the AS bonus.
Another solution might be to make the mechanic based on hit.
The secondary for 20% fear is going to be detrimental, as this will disrupt most wizard builds. We don’t rely on fear as a mechanic in general, yet will suffer greatly from having to carry this on the weapon if our build requires we equip this in the main hand. Most builds will cube it though, since the base AS is lower, and usually other items are required worn.
Suggest an increase to this items’ base AS to 1.4 at a minimum, so that it can be an easier decision to have it worn (not cubed), increase duration of the bonus or change to on hit, and also remove the fear secondary (maybe allow for a different random secondary?).
Stone Gauntlets:
Thus far seem to be overly harsh in their attack speed reductions, with it appearing to be a multiplicative penalty. Have yet to see if there are any bugs arising from having such low AS. If this great of reduction is the intent, then that is okay I suppose. In the very least the multiplicative approach ensures you never reach 0 AS or negative AS, so in that sense, I can understand why it may be implemented this way.
I do like the current duration though, seems adequate for having to get hit within 6s time to keep up the bonus.
Perhaps lessen the penalty of the AS reduction since it is multiplicative in nature.
Also, why does this always roll strength? It should roll INT as primary affix.
Squirts:
Fix the bugs please.
Legacy of Dreams (gem):
Great implementation to keep the LoN bonus in the game, at most each build has to give up a gem slot (could be ~50% multiplier), but should allow the two ring slots even still, and with more jewelry to equip, the legendary gem slot becomes less valued than jewelry.
I love that half the bonus can be used just by having legendary items now, excited to see how this turns out.
Flavor of Time:
Love that this item gets to keep the 5th affix. However, the 5th affix is always CDR. Would suggest you randomize that 5th affix to pick randomly one of AS or CDR, instead of always being CDR. This would allow builds that rely on AS over CDR to benefit from the item more, while still allowing CDR based builds to benefit.
Appears to be working. Need to test more, but loving the doubled pylons so far, especially in a speed setting where the rift is often closed in sub 5 minutes.
The Executioner:
Untested by me as yet. However, instant kill at 10% health is way too little of a benefit compared to some of the other weapons, at least from a solo perspective. Suggest increasing this value. Perhaps 20-30% or so would be more competitive.
Note I haven’t yet tested any of the revised set items. I’ll try and get to those when possible (looks exciting though!).
