Dont prepurchase D4

Blizzard has no integrity or passion to make good games. D3 has gone from “conquering rifts for training purposes” with no context whatsoever, to simply holding down one button and speed running the hardest difficulty.
Furthermore D2R, although pretty, is full of bugs, and doesn’t even have a simple social system. Worst of all, it’s chat channels are full of spam for sites where you can use real money to buy items.
And then there is diablo immortal, which I need say nothing about, as well as Warcraft 3 refunded which not only was a failure, it broke the ORIGINAL game.
They are using every strategy in the book to try to get people to pre-purchase, including giving people a couple days head start. Dont fall for it.
If the game gets positive reviews then by all means buy it, but I am betting it’s reviews will be terrible because BLIZZARD HAS NO PASSION FOR MAKING GAMES.

How about you do what you want with your money and you let others do what they want.

Personally putting $110 for base game model that has fomo battle passes and micro transactions is pretty petty and sh!tballs.
Diablo crapmortal really showed how they only want to scam and lie about money grabs, why would d4 be any different.
I’ll hold off buying a 4 day pre launch crap and see how it goes before next season

Gaming would be better off if people didn’t pre-order, but at this point the conversation has already been had.

Nobody is changing their mind cause of a thread telling them not to do it.

I did hold off preordering a couple of days. To make you feel better.

Diablo 1 was amazing and I played it 'till my fingers bled… same with Diablo 2… wait, same with Diablo 3!

I am still playing D2R and Diablo 3 from time to time. Very few games have given me the kind of value for money that Diablo games have given me.

You can not like them, that’s up to you. For me, it is a no-brainer comparing value for money and definitely pre-ordered this and ready to go.

You do you mate, but not sure what your issue is with D3 and D2R - both are awesome.

Sorry I am weak, I did not even hold off at all on pre-ordering :man_facepalming:

I don’t preorder games. I find it dumb to blindly throw money at something and hoping it’ll turn out great. I’ve already learned that the hard way.

That being said I don’t go around telling people what to do with their own money. If they want to preorder something, that’s their choice.

I didn’t pre-order D4 either although i am sure I will buy it on launch day unless i am busy or occupied on that week.

Too bad that FF16 won’t be released on PC on 22 June 2023 (for console only) because I will definitely pick FF16 over D4.

P.S. As usual the FF16 trailer theme is simply legendary to listen.

Looks like Starfield will come out before Diablo 4, so I will play that first. So no need of pre-ordering it at this time.

Will check back at around season one. Maybe start playing it then, if Starfield is a bust maybe sooner.

There are no evidence that developers are less passionate about making games than some older times.

There we things about game dev now that I dislike, but not being passionate isn’t.

This is romanticism not base on reality and often just used to attack the big developers.

There are no concrete evidence of bigger development studio being less passionate or ethical.

Just like there are no concrete evidence of bigger film being more evil than Smaller business.

These misleading worldviews often stream from media.

I heard a good point made a while ago, which is that news isn’t a even sample size of reality, but what they want you to see, often mislead people certain things are worse or less worse than reality.

A lot of small studios and small business are involve in bad stuff but they ain’t as highlight as much as the big boys.

Sure they are, because they have more opportunity to be. Same as famous people sleep around more not because they are more inclined than your average smuck, they just have infinitely more opportunities.

So your argument is that, people are evil, more powerful people just have the chance to be evil……

So being rich or big just makes people more opportunities to be evil. Hence big film and rich powerful people are more evil……

So weare more evil solely because we are richer than poorer countries…

No, not my argument, reality says that’s how it is. The more power you have the more you think you get away with, and sadly, in many cases that’s exactly what happens.

The people who work on these games very clearly have a passion for making them.
Its true that the business side of Blizzard has overtaken the process and structurally the company is now most concerned with profit over games but a majority of the individual people who work as developers for Blizzard are very passionate for making games.

That 4 day early access is definitely a bit of a red flag, it’s a clear point where the aim is to maximise profit over providing a good experience. It’s going to split up friend groups on launch, even if you accept that ultimately they are only presenting seasons as the competitive element, it doesn’t change that some groups are effectively going to have a not so ideal launch for multiplayer groups.

I find that specific element fairly sad for the franchise, everyone bustling in on launch day to collectively experience things is something I am a big fan of and it’s a tad sad that this will be missed for the sake of profit generation. It’s also a bit sad to think about how this will probably become the norm for expansions later down the line.

I’m conflicted about supporting this pre-order structure but it seems that most players don’t really care either way. I think the gaming community has revealed that fomo is a very powerful way for developers to get more money out of them and they’ll keep pushing it as far as it works.

Yeah! Let us fools and our money soon be parted!

FOTO keep being thrown around like its a game unique thing that are new.

Every summer sales, black friday cyber Monday etc discount buy one get one free, Pay less if you buy more, limited edition sneakers. Mcdonald menus, combos etc

How about learning to excerise Restaint, self control, rather than telling business not to make their product more desirable.

Thank you for the advice! I am convinced now. I will not pre-order it. Please let me know when I should buy it. I await your decision with bated breath. Just please let me know if you will be available to handle all my life decisions from now on. Not sure I can handle them by myself.
