Any respect I had for you as a developer is gone.
Don’t fall for the nostalgia. Its a hell of a drug.
They are going to milk this cash cow as much as they can.
Its just going to be another Star Wars, TFA.

Bye. I wish you well. Hey can I have your stuff?
The “Blizzard you knew” is no more since 20 or so years. Blizzard is part of big business the moment it went under Vivendi. You don’t even have to turn to Activision as a scapegoat at this point.
the toxic troll squad already here trolling your honest thread. figures. cant have a normal discussion on these forums
yeah true… unfortunately everyone is motivated by different reasons, there are players who only want to check out the bosses again… streamers who need something to create content with… and those in between who want to experience the game with new friends…
the remake doesn’t have to be incredible, it only has to pass as playable.
Hope you’re not going to be Bravata 2.0, and aktually leave, and never come back, never touching any game from blizz. Good bye.
That’s disappointing. With only 24 posts, it’s like we barely knew you.
employees/friend of employees… we are sitting in their hornet nest afterall.

I have seen all these “I quit Blizzard” or “I boycott Blizzard” since 2012, yet Blizzard is still making a lot of money and still a giant in the western gaming. If only those people who made those claims actually stick to it instead of secretly spending money or purchasing their products and then throw tantrum on the forum hoping to “threaten” the developers to cave into their demands; rinse and repeat.
I have been waiting for more than 25 years for big companies to close following the “I leave” comments: (Activision)Blizzard, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and many more…
And 20 years later…
There is no “Blizzard”. Now it’s just a name which used to mean something in the past. All the core people left and the exodus of the old talent continues. Only the name and nostalgia is left. The old Blizzard is dead. They will NEVER make a new RTS which used to be their specialty for decades. These days Blizzard is simply a sidekick of Activision without any soul or purpose. I expect that they start making mobile games based upon Warcraft lore.
Indeed.
Furthermore, even if these people do actually boycott Blizzard as they say, in the long run it’s rather meaningless. Blizzard or any other company is not going to give a flying #### about a few people boycotting them. They can afford to lose them.
Only if there was a significant drop in total revenue they’d react. However that would require losing a significant portion of the playerbase.
I read some articles based on their quarterly reports and they DO lose players (MAU), but… they also gain profits. This means that they squeeze more money out of a smaller player count. Players DO leave their games in large numbers. They also lose a lot of veteran developers and managers which is deadly in the long run.
What is your motivation for announcing that you are leaving? That is my only question. When I stop having fun with a game, I just stop playing. I don’t make a public announcement.
People announce that they are “leaving” or “refunding” to try to attract attention to their “cause”.
They should take a look at Activision Blizzard y:y. Since they have been spreading “doomed!” from the pulpit for a decade or more.
DI will be a lot bigger than most think. Let that sink in.
Yeah, I think I saw that too. I think it was WoW (?) where the player base was dropping significantly but somehow their profit increase significantly due to WoW Token monetization.
Yeah, WoW Token and their digital store. It’s still something like $30 to switch factions, for example, and they do these 6 month sub deals for a mount that a lot of folks sign up for. They’ve monetized as much as they can in that game.
Those mounts are not exclusive to the 6 month sub are they? I thought that people who sub for 6 months got it free, but people who don’t want to sub can buy it separately. Which makes sense if you don’t plan to play for a full 6 months.
